Found some Kamado Joe XL Big Block lump charcoal at Lowes, and had heard good things about it, though I had never tried it. Since Meijer had BOGO ribs on sale, I figured today was the day. Threw the ribs on with some Apple wood chunks. Ran at 235 degrees for 1.5 hours, then up to 290 degrees for 2.5 hours. Didn't need to wrap or spritz at all. They turned out darn near perfect. Not completely falling off the bone, with still a little bit of bite, but coming clean off the bone. Paired with some Bourbon baked beans.

Lumberjack seems to have some votes here, are you guys getting them from local retailers?

Anyone have opinions on Cabela's pallets?

Lumberjack makes the cabelas brand pellets.

I get mine from local Rural King.

I’ve tried the char-hickory they were ok I just haven’t branched out much on pellets. I found the competition blend and have pretty much stuck with it for years now. It’s hard for me to spend a lot of time and money on smoking meat to try a new pellet and not like it.

That is good to hear. We don't have a Rural King up here but I'm 10 minute drive to Bass Pro to get some Cabela's pellets.

Curious if anyone has used a smoke daddy pellet pro digital pid controller?

Thinking of installing one on my Traeger pro 22 I'm sick of the 70+ temp swings and the fire going out sometimes. I wish I knew about Recteq before I bought my Traeger my uncle's Recteq swings about 3 degrees max.
