    I need to know more about this gelled PortaPit, seems like that would go perfect with some chicken thighs and drumsticks.
    I have a friend that was involved with a charity and he got some pints to put in his freezer. If it's not warmed, it's gelled. It was wasted on the pork with all the hickory smoke but my taste buds are burnt out from hickory. I'll get you a pint because he offered me more. I'll check to make sure and grab some for you. Hopefully.

    Why not just a cast iron cover for a regular grill? Cook space?

    I cook with cast iron all the time. I haven't yet figured the appeal of a dedicated flat top. Maybe it's cook space?

    It's mainly for the extra cooking space for me. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sausage all at once. Or Burgers and fried potatoes/squash at the same time.
