    Tomatoes don't like city water.
Let the water sit open for at least 24 hours. The chlorine will leave the water.

I am putting tomatoes where I had them last year. I have also put down lots and lots of rabbit droppings. The kale that got some has just grown like corn in a hot July. We harvested some and the next day it had doubled in height.

my gardens have grown. 4 new 4x8 beds this year and I need more. I would turn the entire front hard into a garden if the HOA would not object. ***no HOA comments***

hard to not plant more. Put out potatoes today ... they had gotten roots going, so they had to get out. Started beans as well. Beets again for another kind and later harvest.

This year using a different temporary set up for the seedling nursery; a card table, plastic cups. My big investment was a new forty dollar grow light to help limit the legginess before taking them outside.

Heavy freezing dew this morning. My Asian yard long sprouters might have gotten whacked but I threw the dice based upon forecasts. Got plenty of seed left over from last years crop so will replant as needed.

Been wondering about planting some for the deer and the humming birds.
There's a dead arbor vita about ten feet tall... maybe will let some yard longs take it over and make a bean tree. Those yard long beans would cocoon it like a kudzu attack.

I'm headed back out today to spade and fork another raised bed.
Started another one yesterday and halfway through the back said NO.

Anyone have an low cost suggestions for supporting Tomato plants?

I have heard they can be grown vertically but not sure how that works.

so far we have 300 plants in at different stages.

    thanks

I just read an article that linked to this "florida weave" yesterday. I have not tried it.

I invested in concrete reinforcing wire cages many years ago. Beyond the dozen cages I use, I am experimenting with long T-posts, single stemming, tieing to the post directly and moderately heavy pruning.
