I just found one of these a couple days ago on a garden plant...

Yep, they're here. Castile soap seemed to work on it, but took a while.

Destroyed a row of beans last night, and I only found 3 worms. Had to be more I would imagine.

The last crop of this season's green peppers got harvested from my patio plants this past weekend. They were kind of small so I decided to turn them into stuffed peppers. I found that this worked out better than using larger peppers as the small ones fit better in the crock pot.

The pics don't show it but they were slow cooked in V-8 juice.

For cooking the yard longs...
Been treating them just like green beans. Side by side with mashed taters and meat, stir fry, whatever.
They're still coming on like gang busters every time they get water, the most productive beans I've ever seen.
Tomorrow I'm gonna throw some in a pickle with carrots, peepers and Armenian cucumbers.

I have read that they do better stir fried than cooked or boiled in liquid? Supposedly, they absorb the liquid and it takes away from their taste?

I did cook some in bone broth, but they were fairly heavily seasoned. They seemed fine, but not necessarily like green beans.

Lately been stir frying with peppers, onions, garlic and pulled pork, with a couple oriental seasonings.

If I read correctly, long beans are in the black-eyed family? They also have more carbs than green beans.

I'm gonna have to figure how I want to freeze them. Some of the lower ones that made it to the ground have gone too far and will be saved for seed.
