Nice gill. I'm hoping to hit the channel where we did so well through the ice. The gills are still there and the crappie should be moving in too.

I am heading to Cabela's this Sunday... Taking sons and grandson and giving them a rod or reel to trade-in.
I hope to pick up a few new Pflueger reels.

We did that last weekend. They had their Revo marked down from $99 to $79 and we got another $15 in trade.

I picked up another 3 Pfluegers over the winter from BassPro. That’s 5 over the last couple years. Picked up 3 new rods couple weeks ago from my local bait/tackle store. Finally started spring fishing last weekend. First day resulted in nothing.

First fish of 2021 on second day. Last couple days about 50 gills ( only a few nearing “keeper” size), 2 largemouths ( 14 “ largest ), and 1-9” crappie. This cold front & wind will shut things down for few days. However few warm, sunny days and should pick up.

I would go out today but being a Saturday the little lake will be busy. I think it's half people not working and half people needing relief on their food budget. The other half is just for peace of mind. That's why I go.

Spent a couple hours this morning supervising and performing numerous maintenance tasks, etc. We have no grandchildren. My wife has a nephew in Indianapolis wife 3 daughters. They are our substitute grand kids. Arrived yesterday for the week. After storms, cold front, white caps last few days, few bluegills came back yesterday & few more this morning. Hoping for some with more size later this afternoon if wind doesn’t get to 30-40 mph as forecast.
**Notice, only Zebcos in pix. No quality equipment is used for obvious reasons !!!

Well it sure was windy today but half the reason I go fishing is to blow the stink off me and send it to the frying pan. It worked barely. I got 6 that will feed me, 8 to 9"ers. Fishing 2' deep in the pads with ice fishing jigs and bobbers. Red wigglers for bait. A friend was fishing the same small lake and got 38 in 7 to 8' of water on the bottom. First liar doesn't stand a chance but I'm not stretching my story at all. Go big or don't tell is his motto.
