    I know the title states 2013, but figured we could just keep this rolling. Just recently got a new grill with a smoke box and decided to give the smoker a whirl. 14 pound turkey, put it on about 08:30 yesterday and smoked it for about 10 hours. Best turkey I've ever had and beautiful smoke ring. And yes, I did start drinking beer at 08:30.

    Cool. I do mine closer to 350 or 375. I guess a smoked turkey is delicious no matter how you cook it!

    Yeah, 10hrs is a little too "low and slow" for poultry IMO. Spends too long in the "danger zone" for me. Sure looks good though!

    I prefer ~350ish for birds... Quick and juicy with crispy skin!

    So you did end up getting that grill. Just wait till you try a brisket on it. My wife has three pork shoulders in the freezer just waiting to be smoked.
