The two 10mm RIA ultras.Love both of these, best automatics I've ever shot.Ive got a third that's getting the slide engraved.
So you have 2 of the double stacks. Are they 16rd magazines?
How much was the tactical with threaded barrel? I'm looking into a higher capacity 10mm this is on my radar. Since my single stack works so well I'm thinking of going RIA for a double stack 10mm.

I love them so much I have three.Only ammo that they don't like so far is Magtech with flat nose bullets.16 rounds yes sir.I shot my EDC ultra for my USCCA level one and hit 49 out of fifty.I highly recommend them. The threaded barrel model was a shade over 700.00 at Brandenburg Guns.

    No grip tape on front?
Nah. I prefer a smooth front strap on a 1911. I like the feel of it. The G10 grips and checkered mainspring housing are grippy enough. At any rate, if I felt like I needed more grip in the front, I'd try one of those Wilson Combat checkered strips that secure under the grips. But grip tape? Nope. Like putting ketchup on filet mignon. :):

Besides, we won 2 world wars with smooth front straps, right?

    :)

I've had Kimber, Taurus, S&W, Colt, and Sig 1911 style handguns in the past. The Taurus is still in the family, my boy has it. My current one is a Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm. It's the most accurate I've had.

One thing they ALL have... that 1911 feel.

The 5 favorite things, all men like (or should like) to do with their hands...
    1. Pet dogs.
    2. Play with boobs.
    3. Hold a 1911.
    4. Eat.
    5. Drive vehicles fast.

Like a reg 1911 w arched Pachmayr MS housing and Hogue slab grips ( my Colt Commander for 25 yrs ). If i can find a new Colt Delta Elite Ill set it up that way.

Also like the feel.of the Browning High Power.

    Different but very good.

When our youngest asked for a carry piece, we gave him a M&P 9c and he seemed happy with that. A month ago the OG took him to the range with a selection of sidearms, one of which was my Govt model. To our surprise (not surprised) he shot it better than the 9c, so I bequeathed it to him. I think he is most likely the youngest person in the county to be carrying a 1911, let alone an EDC in .45ACP.

To celebrate his new acquisition, the OG gave me this for Valentines Day.

So I have very short fingers. And someone told me a commander was easier to hold. Is there a difference in the grip between the gov full size and commander? They look the same to me

I have a Ria HC 10mm that I milled the slide on for a holosun 507.
Off a rest I put 6 for 6 shots thru a clover leaf hole at 25 yards.
I love the gun but it is heavy.

I recently acquired a 1911 Commander (Tisas) just holding it I realize the brilliance of JMB, fits the hand, ergonomic, before the word was invented.... I love this gun, and how it feels ( my third or 4th 1911, might well be my last...for a while....A friend of mine once said the wonder 9's fill the hand like a donkey d%*#....Not having personal experience with that..........but could be true..... I love my M&P 9c.........Thoughts?
The 1911 might be my favorite to shoot at the range, but I’d never carry one. IMO, they’re too finicky for EDC. If I had to carry a single stack .45 it would be the P220. They’re a bit heavier but far more reliable in my experience.
