My newest addition. 1st time 1911 build in progress. Just fit the slide to frame today. Took 5 hours. I didn't want to muck it up
Its Done! Took longer and cost more than I thought but I think it turned out great. Had to tweak a few things to get it running 100% but its well on its way

No FCEs? How are you going to do the tactical press checks every five minutes :D

I think they look nicer like that myself.
I've been drooling over Baers for years. The Kimber is great and all but those fcs always bothered me..... unnecessary for my use and kills the lines of this classic design. I knew when I could afford one, it would be sans fcs.

I came across this 1911 without knowing much about it other than it was a custom gun from 1966. Turns out it is customized by Ikey Starks at Sports West in Denver, CO. They are semi-famous for a custom gun they did called the Chuck Taylor Commando Special. This is before that gun line came out, but it is quite a piece.

The bluing on the slide is very shiny, but turning plum colored. From what I understand, that isn't unheard of from the 60's.

The frame is satin nickel and I had to do some cleaning to get the nickel back looking good and the checkering cleaned out. It could still use some work, but I don't want to go crazy.
