    I have a ' Bicentennial ' 10/22 that is special to me.
It intermittently has a somewhat light strike. I have cleaned the devil out of the bolt it has not helped.
I'm looking to see what else I can do. Buying new parts isn't a problem, but don't want to replace 'this' when I should have replaced 'that'.
Any recommendations on what and where to buy, or anyone that has original parts from customizing one.
    Thanks.

Have you tried several different types of ammo?

And do you have another 10/22you to swap parts with? Switch the bolt. And then switch the trigger. See if that helps.

I have tried several brands of ammo. Don't have another rifle to swap with.

IF you also want to improve your accuracy, you can get one of these bolts. They tightened up my groups. And if that isnt the problem, you've improved the rifle when it finally does get fixed.

what brands? Any premium like Eley, Aguila, or Mini Mags? Its possible you just chose several unreliable brands. There are quite a few.

What exactly have you cleaned on the bolt? The face? The firing pin channel?

Have you also cleaned the barrel where the bolt meets it?

Any of these could cause light strikes. The hammer spring could also be the culprit.

Oh, and if you are worried about swapping bolts and whatnot because its a special edition, just keep the old parts. My 12YO's 10/22 is a vintage model a year younger than her mother, so I kept all the parts I swapped out so I can make it whole again.

    Possible causes

Bolt not going in to battery....clean the daylights out of it and lube
Firing pin bent or channel is packed full of dirt , pull pin clean and inspect
Trigger assembly full of dirt / defective spring , pull assembly, take down in to individual parts clean and inspect.

Easiest fix............take out back pound into ground use as tomato stake, as you look at a savage, or other quality Smallbore gun

Where are you from G19? There is a good chance somebody nearby would be willing to meet up at the range to start swapping parts since you dont have another. Then again, you could always buy another. You can never have too many 10/22s.

I'm late but will add that my 10/22 is a early 90's production. I had to change out the springs, and it was fine. I bought a spare ruger oem firing pin and compared it. It seems it was a little worn so I replace it, and the extractor with a titanium extractor. I used Power Custom springs and extractor. Runs better than I remember it did new.

Appreciate all the replies. As soon as I installed new firing pin and extractor, I went in for prolonged hospital stay.
Will report after I've taken it to range.
