Well sure, I mean it's a win-win if they settle out of court. The judge/court doesn't have to do anything and there is an assumption of guilt on the part of the police.

I think I'll call my boss in the morning and encourage him to go ahead and do my work tomorrow but pay me nonetheless.

Maybe. However, they could push this up to the 7th Circuit for a ruling. That is what they did for my lawsuit. The City refused to pay a single penny for mine.

Cause, it ISN'T cheaper, when everyone then starts to sue.
It's like when they don't go after identity thieves or credit thieves.
