I really like the 30S; it's a great shooter. It's a nice compliment if you've got both a 21 and a 19. It can take the 21 mags and it will fit very well into any 19 holster.
You're right Mgderf; they are very expensive if you can even FIND one. All most 2 years ago now, I found my first J.M. stamped Marlin 336 in .30-30 for $850. It was a 1979 model, no cross bolt safety and very clean. I hadn't seen one at my LGS for years and didn't own any at the time so I...
I haven't seen many Uberti's but I'll keep an eye out for them.
This is my only Henry so we'll see how it goes. My only other lever .22 is a JM-stamped Marlin 39A which is a great gun!
I just picked up a used H001 with a scratched receiver cover but Henry sells replacement covers for $40 + S/H for the smooth cover or $50 + S/H with a saddle ring. Waiting for my plain cover to arrive...
I happened to find a chrome one like yours at my LGS with the original and two sets of stocks; black and ivory. I never knew they existed. It is a great shooter and having 9 rounds makes the fun last longer. Hope you enjoy yours too! And as someone else said above, mine is going to be passed...
I'll try to read your article later. It's not easy drawing from your strong side while seated with your seat belt on, but it can be done safely. I did it from both driver and passenger seats WITH a partner in the other seat at the time. When the "THREAT!" command was given, we worked as a team...
Last Saturday I attended the 8-hour Hoosier State Training Vehicle Darkness Gunfighting Class. It was a fantastic learning experience! Dan Burch did an amazing job instructing us. It ran from 2pm-10pm. The training with great examples showed actual applications and results along with dispelling...
Thanks for sharing this article. I found a couple from Jewish News Syndicate: Rush for guns and Prepare for Arab rioting
One sentence that really caught my attention in the 2nd article was:
And starting this week, gun owners will be able to own 100 bullets, up from 50.
Wow, this sure makes...
That I own and are most fond of:
S&W 686 4" no dash
S&W 29-2 6.5" ... "Go ahead...make my day!" Special one.
1st rifle I ever bought: beautiful Ruger Mini-14...with a 30-round mag...what fun! Only $150 many many years ago.
1st AR: Used BCM Recce 16; if I would have walked away, there were...
The 686+ 3" is a great revolver. I picked up a used one (over 5 years ago now, wow!), no box or paperwork just the revolver. It's very well balanced in your hand and the stock trigger is just fine. I don't carry it yet, still haven't searched for an IWB holster, but I do take it out for...
Sorry to hijack a 1911 thread with a Glock post...is that sacrilege?
I hear ya Bassat; my first Glock was a 21 Gen 3. Still have it and love shooting it. I did add a 30S a few years back since it can use 21 mags. Maybe that's one you should consider too? Compact, 10 rounds of .45 and so sweet...
Exactly! Like Clint Smith says...battle field pickups. Being able to pickup any firearm and know how to use it effectively..."become a student of weapons craft".
Nice 930, I really like that model.
When we went to NRAAM in Indy a few weeks ago, my goal was to hold the new Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical, the Savage Reneguage, and the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. All I can say is wow, I'd be happy with any of them.
The 940 has the optics cut already and feels...
Custom built, best high-end component, built ARs...can't say I ignore them but mainly curious (and chuckle) to see how much $ people drop into them and expect to get it ALL back. Just because it's such a GREAT rifle after you've tricked it out the way YOU wanted doesn't mean everyone ELSE wants...
Agree 100%, you need to LEARN how to operate both; firing and clearing malfunctions, just in case the need ever arises. Wish I could find the video link...but as Clint Smith says: you need to be a student of weapons craft. What better way to do that than owning both!
We didn't see him but when we we leaving we saw Mac of Military Arms Channel being interviewed on the side walk. Didn't hear much of the exchange but I heard Mac say something like: "...you want to blame the AR-15..." to the interviewer. I wondered who the interviewer was and would love to hear...
Went Friday morning with my son and son inlaw at the open. We all had a great time. Met Hickock45 and Clint from Classic Firearms...great friendly guys! I specifically was looking at new tactical 12 ga shotgun offerings: Savage Renegauge Security, Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical and Beretta A300...
