As a person with a single stage and a Dillon 550 I gotta vote 550 if you're just getting one machine. You can get a good amount of ammo out of it in a short amount of time if you're paying attention. If you're going to want more volume 9mm later it might make sense to go buy a LnL AP or 650/750...
For pistol stuff I Lee factory crimp just enough to see/feel (maybe 1/8th a turn over touch) and then just plunk. I have never felt the need to find max oal for pistol (on rifle I use modified cases and a caliper/comparator set to find the lands)
Following along here, I've been interested in it. I have a 7mm barrel just kinda sitting around and I'm trying to settle on a chambering. 7-6.5PRC (or PRCC/PRCW whatever they call it) is on the list as is 284 Win/Shehane. My personal situation I have a fixed 9.5 twist so I can't do the super...
The wheels were never that tightly on to begin with is my opinion. I got some good deals from them but two out of the three times my credit card got swiped/used online in other states after buying from them. Plus those mixed packs are ... genuinely the least useful amount of any one type of...
Pistol length is definitely the way to go. I had a carbine length barrel and struggled to get subs to cycle right (there may have been other issues with the setup), but I have had two pistol length uppers and they both worked great with subs and supers.
I moved here from a state that mandated ffl transfer for private sale and while it was moderately inconvenient it did put to rest any concerns about if the person you were selling to was “proper”. That being said it did make gifting firearms even to family members over 18 into a “trip to the...
In addition to the excellent suggestions just above, the Burris XTR II/III lineup deserves a look. I’ve looked through a friends Arken EP5 and it would be hard to beat it for value. I am personally saving my pennies for a Bushnell Match Pro ED.
I have a 550 and while I love it, I wouldn't pay retail price for it when the LnL AP is out there with an extra station and non-janky casefeeding capabilities.
The 650/750 is also a hard sell when the LnL AP is out there frequently with rebates and offers, and the 1050/1100 is in my opinion...
SHELL SHOCK technology. They were loaded crazy spicy hot from the looks of the case, too. Or maybe just used a lot. IIRC they are reloadable but they require special dies.
Johnny's Reloading Bench did a vid or two maybe?
SW kept me waiting around for two hours "looking for" a gun I was waiting to pick up (the wait in oregon at the time was >1day for a 4473) only to find out that they were trying to submit a second 4473 which wouldn't allow them to enter that serial number (it had already been sold to me) causing...
I've not had this problem. Every optic I've looked at, on their manufacturers page both shows the reticle and frequently has a detailed view of the subtensions. Arken, Athlon, Vortex, Swampfox, Bushnell, Sightron, Nightforce, all across every range of price, I find reticle details and...
I bubbaed one off with a cutoff wheel and some cold blue and it came out okay. The main problem with add on gas blocks is the scallops for the pins interfere/alter where the set screws land sometimes. Clamp on gas blocks can work in this situation.
I wimped out and bought the Yong Heng for $230 and it works fine for me so far. The crappy aquarium pump they include for cooling died after a year. I have a NP Gamo 177 that never ever gets used because my 22 pcp is so much quieter.
You actually sent me down a rabbit hole I didn't realize Winchester had a 255grain hollowpoint subsonic option too. Though I dont' seem to see those for sale as components.
Hornady sells their 357 250gr Sub-X projectiles 357 Sub-X which I assume is the pill in their 350 Legend Subsonic offering. IIRC they offer a softpoint too but it might be too long?
I am waiting to hear how the feeding is on these, they're basically the only non-savage game in town for a 300BO bolt gun right now, the only other one I have even seen is CVA. Howa seems to have discontinued all theirs.
