      Need Ideas on 6.5 Grendel

I did a BCA upper on a 308 build. It's an MOA shooter. Can't beat it for the money. I also just did a 6.5 Grendel build with an 18" PSA barrel, AR Stoner upper receiver and handguard, and an Aero lower. It's shooting sub-MOA. Attached is the 5 shot group. The flyer to the right is on me...

      Bobcat Season?

On the properties we own, we have large numbers of turkeys. And I catch bobcats on my cameras all the time. They haven't impacted turkey numbers here at all. In fact, the turkey numbers are as high as I've seen them.

      Stevens 334

Always thought Stevens was just a secondary brand for Savage and we're just rebranded Savage products. This rifle is obviously different than anything Savage makes. I'm assuming this is likely a rifle purchased overseas and branded as Stevens.

      Precision/Sniper Rifle Show and Tell

It was nice outside today, so I decided to throw some lead down the pipe. After getting the barrel warmed up, here's a 7 shot group I did today. Not great. Not terrible. The flyer on the left and the lack of main grouping is definitely more me than the rifle. I've got some work to do on my...

      Silencer question

I'm considering a suppressor as well. I have a couple of dumb questions. 1). I'm wanting to use the suppressor on two rifles (6.5 Grendel and .308). Both have 5/8-24 threaded barrels. I'm assuming I could buy one threaded suppressor and move it between the two rifles? Is that the best...

      Precision/Sniper Rifle Show and Tell

Still working on getting it set up. It was doing MOA or better on the initial test fires with some oddball loads I had from a previous rifle. I've got a hand load worked up I want to try. I was able to determine COAL and have set my handloads about 0.005" back from that. Should improve the...

      Stoeger question

I have a Stoeger M3500. Very reliable. It's a pretty well regarded shotgun based off the Benelli inertia design. Obviously not the fit and finish of a Benelli. But I'm happy with it as a field gun. My favorite shotgun that I have is the Franchi 48AL Field in 20 gauge. Obviously not a...

      Gun sale question

If you don't want to deal with the sales themselves and are OK with paying fees: 1) Gun auction with a licensed auctioneer. 2) Consignment at a local gun shop If you don't mind dealing with the sale and want top dollar: 1) Gunbroker each item 2) List and sell each on INGO

      Anybody else rocking a Turknelli!!

That's funny. I have a Stoeger M3500 that runs great. I'm sure Benelli is a great shotgun. But for how I use mine, I'll keep the Stoeger. And BTW, the Stoeger is pretty well regarded. So I guess not all Turkish shotguns deserve to be in the woodpile...

Which is more common in Indiana -- 270 or 30-06?

I'm Gen X and I hunt with a 6.5 Grendel in an AR platform. Age has nothing to do with caliber preference...

      8mm mauser recommendation

Agreed. Only way I'm using a rifle where head spacing is between no-go and field gauge is if I'm running light loads. When a bolt closes on a no go gauge it usually means the lug recessed have setback or recessed over time or due to a soft receiver. Or someone has swapped bolts to a non...

      8mm mauser recommendation

I agree with Ballstater. If you don't have headspace gauges or know how to use them, it would be a good idea to have someone check the headspacing, especially on an old military rifle where bolts might have been switched around. Large ring Mausers (K98, Yugos, VZ24's, etc) are usually pretty...

      8mm mauser recommendation

If you're not afraid to re-barrel a Mauser with a bad barrel, they can be great shooting rifles. The biggest thing to look for is corrosion/pitting on the receiver as well as bolt lug setback on soft receivers that creates unsafe headspace and hard opening bolt issues. I've put new barrels on...

      +1 for AR15Discounts.com

Bought a lower parts kit and buffer tube kit. Great pricing and quicks shipping. This is the second time buying from them. Both times were good experiences.
