most days I rock a Ares, Sangin, or Garmin when hiking, hitting the gym, shooting, etc If I’m casually out and about this is what I’m typically rocking
I didn’t see a thread on this (or at least one half way recent) - what is everyone seeing for transfer fees for cans? Not too concerned about guns themselves as I have a local garage FFL that beats every brick and mortar I’ve found.
I got a CRAZY deal on an Omega 9K can and need to have it...
I’m going on a hog hunt in May and am wondering if hog is tasty… buddies in TX say it’s horrible and they just stack the bodies and don’t process. Others in the Carolina’s have told me it’s tasty. I’m curious if anyone in the group has had it, enjoyed it, and has suggests on preparation.
It’s been a wild last few days as I was on emergency calls throughout the weekend and this week due to SVB and the banks. I rep all of the big investment banks and talk with their trade/structuring desks daily and am in their NYC offices regularly meeting with teams.
Someone mentioned...
I didn’t mean it to come across that way. I should know some details as I’m in the business and my company has capital with a lot of banks including SVB.
SVB had several problems - they went from 49B in 2018, 102B in 2020, and then 109.2B at the end of 2021. They bought a bunch of bonds right before the Fed increased rates due to the increase in capital/deposits. As rates went up, bond prices went down and they failed to hedge those positions...
It’s my understanding that FDIC is only covering 250m. The recently created Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) is backstopping depositors and prevents banks from having to sell out of positions to cover withdrawals.
Assuming I could actually get items bc I had the heads up that others didn’t…
I’d add a bunch of food (used to keep a years supply but we just moved and are renting while we build so we’ve been trying to consume so that we don’t have to handle it so many times). After food and water (water...

I haven’t been around an Abrams. I hear they are so far advanced compared to others. I think I heard we are sending some to Ukraine even though upkeep is super high on them. I think they run on jet fuel? That’s what I heard and I never cared to fact check. Haha
First off, that’s impressive you found those brands for such a good deal. I figured since all I quote is higher end stuff I’m good. She doesn’t know there are cheaper options out there.
I actually speak to Nick Wantland from VLTOR on a regular basis (couple times a week). Great company and he...
Hahaha that always seems to be my issues. I’m glad my wife doesn’t know much about firearms bc she things they all cost the same… all I quote is KAC and LMT so as long as I keep her out of gun stores I’ll be good. Now convincing her I needed NODs took some work.
I’m a huge Modlite fan but Cloud and Arisaka/Malkoff are up there also.
I run PLHv2 on most of my rifles but choose the OKW head if it’s going on a DMR build.
I’m not a fan of tape switches. I run a DS00 tailcap on everything for redundancy as switches will fail. I like the Unity and Modlite...
Glad you mentioned bench shooting and for accuracy. Bipod and or bags, thumb does not wrap, and I don’t worry about recoil and therefore don’t have a tight grip or am pulling the rifle against my shoulder.
If we are talking about running and gunning, thumb wraps, support hand is pulling rifle...
