Why doesn't the club allow members to sell their membership? I'm sure there are older or not-interested members who would sell their place for $500 or so. I'd buy one at that price, right now.
I'm looking for at least 1000, up to several times that, 180 grain 40 bullets. Jacketed or plated, preferably some sort of flat point. Indianapolis area.
Did the gun ever open easily, or has it always been like this?
How badly does it hang up? Do you have other N frame Smiths to compare it to?
The most common cause of this is the extractor rod not being tight. If you're sure the problem is in back, and the gun worked correctly in the past, it...
They're not torqued to a specific value. They're normally fitted so they're hand-tight around 10 o'clock, then tightened to eyeball-correct alignment with a vice and a big wrench. The pin is largely cosmetic; pinned and unpinned barrels should be tightened the same. The pin does not keep barrels...
The pin normally allows a degree or two of rotation either direction. It doesn't really do anything unless the barrel is very loose. If you take the barrel off, and don't polish the mating faces of the barrel and frame, you might be able to reinstall it with reasonable torque. If it's too loose...
I suppose it would make sense for me to try my carry guns with full mags, at least in practice, and see if they are reliable. I really have no good reason to think they won't be.
I always have one in the chamber, except for my Keltec P32. I only carry that when I can't reasonably carry something bigger, and when I do carry it it's appendix, with a clip, trigger fully exposed.
I was just reading the thread about if you carry with one in the chamber, which I almost always do. Then I started thinking about my practice of having the magazine one short of full capacity. I normally have mags that hold 12 or more cartridges, and everything just seems to work more smoothly...
Maybe 30 years ago I got a fanny pack holster, nylon with a velcro gun pocket that you could rip open fairly quickly. I carried a Glock 27 in it when it was too warm for other methods. It worked pretty well, got really gross on hot and humid days.
Looking for some older ammo. I can get the new stuff for 10 cents a round, but it doesn't seem quite as nice as the older ammo. Looking for at least a case (5000), central Indianapolis.
I know it's hard to find, but I'm looking for some standard velocity 22 LR so I can shoot my old High Standards again. I know where I can buy it for 16 cents a round, looking for something closer to the 5 cents I paid a couple of years ago. Cash or trade, lots of stuff.
