I have bought my last gun

Just turned 60, and am usually giving guns to my (all grown up now) kids as presents. That has the added benefit of justifying that I still make occasional purchases.

      WOOHHOO! PUDC For The Win!

My Dad couldn't pass up a pie, but he hated cake - with the sole exception of pineapple upside down cake (which he claimed was actually pie).

WuFlu Strikes Back - Mystery Pandemic 2023

Good idea to take vitamin D, as dark skinned people produce less with the same amount of sun exposure.

What is your "go to" handgun

Bedside gun: S&W Model 15, 4 inch, loaded with 125 grain +P. Gun in my pocket while I'm outside working on my farm, S&W Model 66, 2 1/2 inch with 1 148 wadcutter (for little stuff) and 5 158 grain .357 Magnum rounds (we have bears). Walking in the woods, S&W Model 1066 loaded with Underwood 200...

Messed up 80% AR15 receiver repair

Hmm, tough decision. If it were me, I would fixture a piece of stainless rod of the proper diameter through the safety hole, and MIG enough aluminum in to be able to machine it back to fit the safety. Lacking that, there are industrial adhesives even better than the choices you mentioned.

.30 Carbine Never Exists: Squids Alternate History

Melvin Johnson created the .22MMJ based off the .30 Carbine case. Ballistics were close to .223

      Revolver suggestions

If her hands are too weakened from MS to rack a slide, I would guess that recoil is also an issue. A Ruger LCR in .327 Federal can handle all the lighter recoiling versions of .32 ammunition: .32H&R, .32 Long, .32 Short, or even .32ACP. All are milder recoiling than .327, which already...

Revolver Storage in a Gun Safe

I bent the holder arms apart on a couple of the wire-style racks to fit the N-frames.

That kind of fatigue could be a sign of heart disease. Please don't ignore it.

Thinking about getting out of .22 WMR

I'm not getting rid of any .22LR guns, but I have almost quit using .22LR for small game/pests. I use .22WMR almost exclusively now. However, on the few occasions when I need to use a low power quiet round, I use one of the low report rounds in .22LR (Aguila Colibri, CCI Quiet-22, etc).

Anyone ever carry a Sig P229 in a Galco Miami holster?

I prefer the brown leather myself, but be aware that both colors will stain a light-colored shirt if worn for any length of time. Being skinny, I found it uncomfortable to wear the regular duty belt with a gun, 2 magazines, cuffs, light, and a baton. Too much weight to stay in place, and...

Change my mind about derringer/revolver purchase.

I carried one of the NAA .22Mag mini revolvers for at least 10 years as a backup to my backup gun. Service pistol (.40 cal HK), J-frame S&W on my ankle, then the Mini hidden by my ballsack. Nobody wants to search around a ballsack!

      ANKLE HOLSTERS

I carried an H&K UP40C and a SIG 229 in a Galco Ankle Glove, total of 20+ years. Your points are absolutely correct. It's the way to carry a gun when you otherwise wouldn't be able to. Additional thought: ankle holsters change your stride, and can cause "Altered Gait Syndrome"

Anyone ever carry a Sig P229 in a Galco Miami holster?

Yes, I carried a SIG 229 in a Galco Miami Classic for many years. Looking back, I would consider it to have been the most comfortable way that I carried the pistol, comparing it to a Blackhawk Serpa belt holster FBI-style, a Safariland belt holster, and a Galco Ankle Glove. I balanced the...

Bought a Kel Tec Sub 2k.

Yes! I've had the same version for about 20 years now. I can stand the recoil, but it seems out of proportion to the gun and round. My USP40 pistol kicks less. By the way, it has functioned flawlessly since I polished the feed ramp.
