      Rem 1100 Reassembly

The soft clay pigeon loads are more what I'm referring to. A lot of people tend to get that 100 rd. value box from Walmart. Guilty of it myself. With the double gas port and a heavy action sleeve, they usually cycle fine on lighter loads. Single port with the heavier action sleeve they get a...

      Machining Glock slide from scratch

I appreciate the interest but merely do it as a hobby. Unfortunately, I'm not tooled up properly to make it cost-effective either.

      Rem 1100 Reassembly

The Magnums, have a heavier action sleeve (a couple of ounces if I remember correctly) and a single gas port vs. the standard two. So if it wasn't cycling it might be from light loads. it wasn't designed for it. Just google 1100 action sleeve, standard vs. magnum. Went down this EXACT route...

      Ima Gumsmif. It's my credo.

I'll just leave this here. In all seriousness though. I see a lot of people on different media platforms that have started trying to "build" their own Glocks these days. A lot of these people that are, get nutted up about the smallest of things. "The polymer frame isn't perfectly straight...

Why not adjustable gas blocks and tuning tips on AR's

I will say there is a difference between a Tool and Die Maker and a Machinist. The link below will better explain than I can. Several years back when I started as an apprentice I once called one of the elder Master Tool and Die Makers a machinist.. After dodging an angle plate flying...

Why not adjustable gas blocks and tuning tips on AR's

When stuff really hits the fan, I'll take the toolmakers that can make a Khyber pass gun vs. the 3k rifle "build" group that still needs a smith when it breaks. The term "build" gets thrown around too loosely these days. If you're not using a mill or lathe are you really building or are you...

      Machining Meteorite...

Sorry for the lateeee response Jaybird. It crossed my mind but I decided to steer away from it. I felt it may take the effect away from the meteorite's pattern. I'll admit it's more of a safe queen gun. I DO shoot it, but on rare occasions.

Why not adjustable gas blocks and tuning tips on AR's

Funny I have the same foundry marks on one of my Anderson lowers as well as my DD. As far as lowers and uppers go it's all the same, just whose CNC it ran through is all. Messed a lot with different "quality" brands throughout the years. It's all the same junk as far as the AR platform goes...

      Machining Meteorite...

Here's an update on the build. I've gotten the front sight post completed now. Unfortunately, I won't have enough material to do the rear. So sometime in the future, I'll have to find another piece of Gibeon.

      Machining Meteorite...

So I wrapped up the backplate today on The Mandalorian. Really happy with how it turned out. Moving on to the front sight next. If material allows I also do the rear.

      Machining Meteorite...

Yes. The triangular pattern that you a referring to is what is known as "Widmanstatten." In order for it to be visible like the first pictures I post it must be polished to a mirror finish then acid-etched with ferric chloride or nitric acid. During the machining processes, it will look very...

      Machining Meteorite...

Made the first couple of cuts last night. I cheated and stopped by a buddy's shop and borrowed some wire EDM time. After a couple of adult beverages, we decided to throw it in the oil wire. The main reason was to keep it from rusting. So far I've ground and wired on it. Seems to readily...

      Machining Meteorite...

Been away from InGo for a bit. Life getting in the way like most of you all know. Still lurking in the shadows from the time to time. So I got a wild hair and bought some Gibeon Iron Meteorite.... I can't remember if I ever posted this Glock. I machined a couple of pieces in the past for it...

      Gunsmithing Schools

I've looked at SDI myself but they haven't gotten very good reviews when you look through it. For the price you pay for an online school, I don't think it's anything else that you can't learn from youtube these days. Trade work isn't really something I would be looking for online schooling. The...

What is your most unusual or rare guns?

I'm naturally a collector for weird firearms. I don't think I have any really rare stuff, they might be so I'll include them. Please post pictures and share your weird and rare!!! Heck, include the ugliest firearms too! I'll start out with some rare, well what doesn't readily show up on...
