      Retirement Thoughts

Great advice above from others! I'll emphasize that you should prioritize saving AND investing consistently. Compounding interest is a powerful thing. Also control/eliminate debt. These keys, along with time, are your best asset and are very powerful in reaching your goals. I believe that...

      safety glasses recommendation

I like to wear Wiley X Valor prescription glasses, in place of my normal single prescription glasses. I've got a clear pair of lenses...great for indoor and low-light shooting. Wiley X Valor Prescription RX-Safety (Less expensive 3rd party distributor) My tinted prescription shooting...

      Taking a Shotgun into Canada

Beemer...I'm having trouble getting straight answers, too. I'm planning a trip to AK, through Canada and decided to call the 1-800-731-4000 Canadian Firearms Program helpline for clarification on firearms/weapons. The representative I spoke with was appalled at the fact I considered taking ANY...

      Glock vs shadow systems

The Shadow Systems backstrap options do offer the user the ability to set up different grip angles. You can't do this with Glock, as their backstraps simply allow you to make the grip bigger/smaller. Since I like the Glock grip angle, I run my Shadow Systems at the same general angle. I'm a...

Cold bore vs warm bore POI

Are your cold-bore shots, also clean-bore? If your bore is clean initially, some fouling can improve shot consistency. Also, you mention 4 inches of elevation...what distances are we talking about here? 4 inches at 50 yards (approximately 8 moa) is a much different animal than 4 inches at 400...

PSA, Rayovac AAA & AA battery leak fail rate

I've completely given up on alkalines. They all leak...Duracell, Energizer, etc. I threw away EVERY alkaline in the house. I now run Panasonic Eneloop rechargeables in almost everything. They perform wonderfully and don't leak. Cheaper in the long-run too. Available on Amazon, along with...

      I need well pump help

It's a submersible pump control box. You need it to properly start the 3-wire pump. If it were a 2-wire pump, you could test without the box...this looks like a 3-wire to me. Give your current unit a try...if it doesn't function, you could buy a replacement easily. I've used Zoeller brand...

      Any Tacoma owners/drivers?

I believe the adaptive cruise works with the manual, but you won't get the crawl control features. I won't buy another vehicle without adaptive cruise control. It's a game-changer. The crawl control stuff is kinda neat, but I've rarely utilized it. In sand, it can be very helpful if you're...

      Any Tacoma owners/drivers?

I own a 2018 Tacoma TRD Offroad. It's a great vehicle. Toyota brand is hard to beat, as it relates to reliability and service imo. First Toyota I've owned. If a "smaller-than-full-size" truck fits your needs...it's a good choice. Just recently picked up a 2023 RAV 4 XLE Premium for the wife...

Garage door spring just broke! Any suggestions?

Call a guy and be done with it. I'm handy, too...but one small mistake while tensioning a new spring could spell disaster. It's not that expensive to have somebody replace it and balance the door properly. I've used Precision Garage Door for the past several years and have always been...

      Match Grade Ammo

Just for another reference point and more interesting info... Eley Tenex ammo (.22lr) also has an unique bullet tip design (a bit similar to OTM), which optimizes pressure areas etc. https://eley.co.uk/eley-tenex/ "The iconic flat nose projectile of ELEY tenex is one of many innovations...

      Match Grade Ammo

The target bullets, which often feature a small hollow point tip, form a small bubble of air at the tip as they travel through the air. It works as a bearing of sorts, that's virtually perfect in shape as the bullet spins extremely fast and moves forward. This makes for a very repeatable...

Thinking of switching Glock 19 Gen 5 for smaller 9mm. Suggestions?

Fortunately, most of the modern compacts have plenty of capacity imo. Pick your favorite brand/model...Glock 43, Sig 365, S&W shield, etc. AIWB comfort is a subjective thing. Many find a really small gun, carried in that location, can be more uncomfortable than a slightly larger/longer gun...

Computer nerds - laptop upgrade info request

I've used MemTest86 for years to test new RAM. I once had 3 sticks of new RAM (in a new PC build)...one was bad out of the box. Manufacturer warrantied it, no problem. I tested each stick individually, so this took a while. Very frustrating, until I got it figured out as the failure would...

      2023 Smoking/Grilling/Cooking thread

I use a Weber Smokey Mountain (18"). You can get one from Lowe's for $419. It's very versatile and does a great job. I'm also able to travel with it, as it's somewhat portable (good for deluxe camping trips or travelling to friends/family)...

      Anyone own a Tippman M4-22?

I've got one and don't think you'll find a better .22lr AR15 platform firearm from anybody else. Mags are high-quality, it's accurate, and all controls are essentially the same as a traditional AR15. The lower will also accept SOME AR15 aftermarket trigger groups.
