      CCW Licensing - ISP Frustration

:xmad:RANT :xmad: Let me know if I am missing something here, or if anyone else has run into 'issues' with the ISP website. Take some of this with sarcasm and friendly needling, but still real frustration. I decided to apply for a Lifetime CCW. I already have a 'Federal CCW' via HR218 - being...

A Tale of 2 Gun Shops

Well, I will say it was an interesting afternoon. I drove 30 minutes to get to Inlaws and Outlaws Gun Shop in Gas City. I went there a couple of months ago during the week. Nice shop and the guy was friendly, so I thought I'd come back and patronize the business. I prefer going to Mom and Pop...

Henry Big Boy - Brass or Steel .357Mag for Deer?

Hey Folks - Been a looong while since I posted. Getting settled into the new house and job has taken a bunch of my time. VERY happy with my move to Indiana - have to say some of the nicest folks I've ever met. PERIOD! On to my question: My FFL buddy in North Dakota has advertised a...

Former and Current Midnight Dog LEOs..... Sound about right?

I worked Mids for 11+ years of my 15+ years, I can relate to having to 'hold over' while the day shifters checked their e-mails, while sipping on their double whipped soy-chia lattes and munching on tofu, vegan breakfast croissants with sprouts. Then having to go to a meeting so the brass can...

      It's OFFICIAL!!! A Happy Hoosier

Made the trek from ND to IN Firday-Saturday:rockwoot:.... 20 hrs (including stops w/ a 2hr nap) and 1200 miles. And NO, I did not bring the snow. It was clear and dry when we left. It was NOT fun packing up the truck in -18/-23WC. An almost 50 degree temperature swing and it was snowing, but...

      -18, but a 'dry' -18

Woke up this AM and checked the weather gauge. -18, winds WNW @ 4 mph for a -29 wind chill. At least my Folgers is hot. At least it's sunny and the winds aren't howling at 20-25mph like yesterday when it was a balmy -7. Any questions on why I'm moving out of ND?:runaway:

Regional Idiosyncrasies for a New Hoosier

OK - Moving to the Hoosier state at the end of the month. So, I need to get educated on some of the local idiosyncrasies.... For example - Moved to ND from CA. I learned that lunch is dinner and dinner is supper. And that 'lunch' is having a meal/snack at some other time of the day. Weird...

Epic I Got Stuck and How I Survived Stories

This topic was suggested in another thread, Car Breakdown Kits.... Someone also suggested to add in a lesson learned. Though these occurred at work, it could have gotten ugly. First - I had started a new job working for the county running a motorgrader. I had NEVER operated one before and it...

Yotes - A little too close to home

Went out this AM to put my dogs out. Saw this doe carcass on our lake. Only about 200 yds from the house. I know she wasn't there last night. May have to set up tonight, because I'm sure them hungry yotes will be back. Doe is top of fence line, midway between barn and well pump.

ISIL 00 Buck Loads - Bacon Question

Not sure if this question has already been asked. I saw an ad for ISIL 00 Buck loads, with bacon. If I wanted to load up some on my own would imitation bacon work? It's drier and won't have to worry about the bacon grease getting into my powder or gunking up the barrel. But if there's no 'bacon'...

NDSU Bison 4-PEAT as FCS National Champs

Gotta give credit where it's due. I am not an ND native, and not a bandwagoner, per se, but the NDSU Bison football team has done what no other Div I team has ever done, and that is win 4 Championships in a row. Granted they are in a 'subdivision', but when you consider the entire state has a...

Used Shotshell Hulls - Toss or Keep?

I'm in the process of packing up for our pending move from ND to IN ( Alexandria area). Getting STOKED!!! :rockwoot: I have several plastic grocery bags full of spent 20ga and 12ga hulls. Mostly pick ups from shooting skeet on the farm and hunting. I was going to toss 'em, but figured if anyone...

Bump Fire for AR - Where to Go?

I picked up a Bump Fire stock for my AR - $99. I've heard all the "Oh, it's a just a fun 'gimmick' a waste of ammo, not same as a 'real' full auto", blah-blah-blah. A buddy has a Slide Fire and we'd go out and blast away at P-Dogs and Tannerite and generally have a bast, literally. Fun stuff...

Moving from ND to IN, SOON!

Greetings and Salutations - Me and the Missus are in the process of house hunting in Indiana. Currently live in VERY rural ND. Love it that I can just go outside and shoot targets, skeet, Tannerite or hunt (deer, upland birds, waterfowl and 'critters') out my front/back yard - whatever and...
