Anyone buy a new caliber gun because you have a lot of that brass?

I received quite a bit of 45LC and 45-70 brass when a relative passed away but don't own either caliber yet. Currently tempted, although I really don't need either one. Like that ever mattered anyways...

Farming sunflowers here. Common, or new?

Apologies,I wasn't clear. I meant I wasn't aware of any markets to sell the raw, harvested product to. I've not seen them raised commercially in Indiana but it could be something new too, the Dakotas dominate sunflower production in the US, then the plains states. I've seen them raised to be...

Farming sunflowers here. Common, or new?

I'm not aware of any markets for sunflowers in Indiana, but I'm not in your area. Since the field is small it could be someone raising them to dove hunt in this fall?

      Hard carbon buildup

I've had good luck with Orion's Piston Kleen carbon remover. They claim it's safe on all metals but I've only used it on carbon steels, no SS. Plug barrel and let soak 12-24 hrs. Works on carbon deposits on AR bolts as well. About $40/gal IIRC.

Thank you Kirk Freeman for the link to the Pinner v. State opinion summary. It was very enlightening.

      Ruger American Pistol: Video Overview

I have had one for a few years now, probably around 2500 rounds through it now. Its what I start new pistol shooters on after the Ruger Mark. Eats anything you feed it but is a big, chunky gun. Not really my cup of tea but good gun for the money (typical Ruger).

CZ question thread - serious discussion only

Coon fingered a 97 (BTW, where did that term come from?) at Whitaker's a month ago and didn't buy it:dunno:. Still kicking myself

CZ question thread - serious discussion only

I have a SAR B6P. Not a thing wrong with that gun, and it does have a more forgiving chamber than my CZ's. They seem to have tighter chambers and are more particular on ammo (esp. sensitive to COAL in my reloads). I still prefer the all steel CZ's, although that's just personal preference.

22LR, what happened this time, they are everywhere

While I agree that this is how a free market functions (very well stated Johny5 BTW), in this instance I think what sticks in many peoples craw is that it seems to be the same internet retailer each time. They could at least pass around the "high water mark" duties:):

      Rcbs chargemaster

I've had mine about a year and have been happy with it. It zeros easily, and by the time I put a measured charge into a case and seat the bullet, it has the next charge measured out. It will occasionally (maybe 5%) throw an overcharge of 0.1 grains, but it shows it on the display and I simply...

How to stop mass shootings. Master's Degree Capstone

I agree with this sentiment Kut. But as I think we all know that ship has, for most of our society, sailed. Actually, I think that ship and it's entire fleet have sailed. Unfortunately, I don't now how to get them back, the next generation now thinks all of this is normal. Ps. I'm late to...

      Another CMP Question

Warrior1354, I don't have 50 posts yet so can't reply directly to your PM. Thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to drive down to the south store and pick one out. As a first time Garand buyer I'm looking forward to the experience. I will keep your offer in mind though in case...

Lancer L5 AWM Magazines- Anyone have experience good-bad-ugly?

I use P-Mags for 556, but bought a Ruger SR556TD with the interchangeable barrels (556 to 300BO) about a year ago and have been using the translucent FDE Lancer mags for 300BO and the P-Mags for 556 to avoid chambering a 300 in the 556 barrel. I have had no issues with the Lancers feeding 300...

      Overpressure?

Not at all disagreeing with the overpressure diagnosis since apparently at least some of them were definitely overcharged, but I usually have flattened primers with that much pressure and from that angle the other case's primers don't appear to be flattened. Could your sub2000 have a...

      Another CMP Question

So, I've decided it's time for me to buy an M1 Garand. I had a couple Uncles (both have passed) who worked at the International Harvester plant on the north side of Evansville. Both carried Garands in WWII and helped build IHC manufactured Garands in the early 50's so I want an IHC. The CMP is...

Democrats’ Exciting New Hope Adheres to Tired Old Anti-Gun Dogma

Mind if I "cabbage onto" (that's use/borrow for those of you above US 50) that quote? I've not seen it before and it's quite good:yesway:
