I believe the Vortex Venom is too tall to cowitness with suppressor sights. The Vortex Viper Will cowitness but in order to change the battery, the red dot needs to be removed from the slide.
I’m finally getting around to refreshing a surplus CZ75 compact I bought from Birds Away last year. I’d like to do the CGW pro kit eventually but will probably just start with new springs and trigger pin. Is it worth slowly updating parts or just wait until I can do everything at once...
Is there anyone in Indy that makes custom kydex holsters? The last kydex holster I got was from Hooch but I heard he isn't making them anymore. I bought a surplus compact from Bird's Away a few weeks back and am planning on putting new springs in it and carrying it.
Nice review. I have a CORE9mm with the FF3 and am thinking about replacing it with the Vortex Viper in order to cowitness with the irons. The FF3 is just a little bit too thick that you can't use the rear sight. How is battery life and auto-off feature on the viper?
When 22LR was hard to find, I ordered just about anything I could find. Most of it came from larger stores like Gander, Cabellas, etc and I never had any issues there as well.
I either carry a MP9c or a CZ75 compact IWB and the weight between those 2 guns doesn't really make a difference to me. It seems that finding the right holster or reshaping it slightly to fit better was more important for me.
The chain mail scrubber works pretty good. I've used it a few times now and it quickly removes anythig that stuck to the pan. A quick dry and light coat of oil and the pan is ready for the next cook.
I leave the optics on so I don't have to re-zero. If you are worried about it getting damaged in the soft case, how about getting a hard case for storage?
I recently installed a Cajun Hammer kit in my CZ, the part I had the most trouble with was getting the sear spring aligned while reassembling the sear cage. Once I got it together, I realized that I used the wrong pin at first and had to do it over again.
