Is there any way to do a NICS background check without the actual purchase of a firearms?

Thanks for the advice everyone. Unfortunately, locally, pickings are slim, in town there are 2 pawns shops, 3 big box stores and only one gun shop but it is a smaller shop without much inventory(the only large gun shop in town closed down when the owner passed away). Looking to go to a bigger...

Is there any way to do a NICS background check without the actual purchase of a firearms?

Thor, I do have an LTCH, but I had it from before the charges were brought up KellyinAvon, no conviction, no guilty plea deal, charges dropped. I know I 'should' be ok but, that looming threat of the ATF actually going after someone for a failed background check has me "second guessing". And...

Is there any way to do a NICS background check without the actual purchase of a firearms?

Awhile back I was charged with domestic battery, hired a good lawyer, took awhile but charges were dismissed. Before I take a day off from work and to avoid any ATF knocks on my door, I wanted to make sure a background check would come back clear. Local gunshop said I would have to actually go...

      Winchester1300 Defender

I have been looking for a HD shotgun, been eyeballing Mossbergs and Remeingtons, but a local pawn shop has a Winchester 1300 Defender for a little over $200. I would look be looking to add a pistol grip to it taking the total cost around $300-350. Asking for Pro, Cons and ideas.

Looking to upgrade to a better knife

About a year ago I bought a Taiwan Lightning OTF, to see how I liked that type of knife, I knew it wasn't top quality, but I have no complaints, stays as sharp as I need it, and has only misfired when I was playing with it. I am now looking to get a good OTF, like a Microtech, something similar...

      Gray Man Theory and CCW

I did this also, I would wear most of my clothes a little oversized before I started carrying. I just continued that trend after. I don't think that most people notice someone CC'ing, most people are to absorbed in theor phones/companions/kids to look that "hard" at someone, IMO.

What made you a "firearms enthusiast"

My step-dad was a "not in my house" kinda anti-gun. Grandfather and uncles were hunters, one joined the Corps, one fled the state over child support, Grandfather died when I was young. Never fired a gun until I joined the Corps. Got out right before Clinton's AWB sunsetted but wife at the time...

SSGSAD thank you, will send him a PM once I know more BehindBlueI's it is an XDs, from what the police told me, the number on the slide was trashed, but the one under the rail was only scratched a little.
