i would go the marlin x7 because its a newer-ish gun on the market, and the accuracy ratings are better than the ruger. I had issues with my ruger american so i would consider the savage as well but i like the marlin x7.
i think the best way to get that is to go stag. Stag has some nice baseline AR's for arount 850 at gander. Its a great gun for the money. it just comes no sights and cheap furnature.
yeah im feeling the same way, as far as field break down or taking apart its ridiculously hard! the 516 and th 716 are so easy to just pull out clean and stick back in. I think sig is looking like the gun.
the mosin is a fantastic gun to just shoot around. But beware that it has the metal butt plate and is shooting a 762 round, which your fiance might no fancy being she is only 100 LBS. 22 ammo is just nuts to aquire right now. if it wasnt for the ammo i would say get the smith & wesson i have two...
i actually have the ruger sr556 but im not to fond of the piston system and have been heavily considering getting the sig 516. I have also heard good things about the POF. I just dont know if building a piston gun is worth the money or just getting a factory. I do like how easy the sig piston is...
Im looking to acquire a piston driven 556. Whats your opinions on fully built piston 556. and what direction would you go on building a 556. Really digging the sig 516 but building is so much more rewarding. GO
wow thats unfortunate. It sucks when manufactures get so large that they stop caring about the individual. I met a guy that had a Benelli SBE II blow up in his face and cabbalas gave him two new ones and a 5000 dollar gift card to shut him up.
Hmm, i really want to handle the ruger but have not had a chance. I'm leaning towards the sig because it is a chrome lined, sub MOA rifle which is very impressive. But the fact that the ruger is under 2k is also a great option. How much is the POF new, like the set up you have?
