      MRE's Indianapolis

Greenfield. I was in Jensen's Pawn Shop on south SR9 yesterday and he had a box for $5 each meal. Late 2017, mostly pasta and vege meals but a decent price.

      Pressure Vessels (Pressure Canners)

I have several All American canners and have given several as gifts to like minded folks. I find them at flea markets and junk stores. New gauge and weight are a must but only about $40 and they are as good as new. Don't be afraid to buy a used All American and restore it. And the old...

WTB: Cattle AI Liquid Nitrogen Semen Tank

I have a 3 or 5 liter tank and it works but the day hold is only about 30 days on the safe side. I am looking for at least a 10 liter tank that will hold for 80 days or another 3 liter tank that I can go fill with Nitrogen and transfer to my tank. My tank is more of a glorified transfer tank...

      cast iron cookware

The carbon steel will still take on the smell and taste. It is not the iron or steel that absorbs the odor but the layers of seasoning on the pan. Get a dedicated "fish" only pan. I am one of the weird folks that has a dedicated fish, potato, egg, bacon, sausage, etc ... pan. There are at...

      cast iron cookware

No kidding Fargo, I walked up on a decent no notch Lodge 12 a few months back and just about teared up when I turned it over ... ruined beyond belief from a grinder and wheel. And please, NO fire cleaning. Buy some Lye and some gloves folks.

      Antique Furniture Shopping Thread

Not really full blown antique and not really small town but I rarely leave empty handed. The Treasure Mart and The "Original" Treasure Mart in Kokomo. Yes, just about the same name but different stores. Also check out the Springfield Ohio antique and flea market. Google it. The HUGE show is...

      Major SHTF event, food preservation

Learn to can. Stock up on jars and lids. Get a propane burner and propane. It will take the food in the freezer a couple or more days to thaw so you might have some time to think it through and not be rushed. Also, canning it might not lead to your neighbors going "that smells good" and...

Anyone in Indy sell Fobus holster?

Steven R Jenkins will most likely have the leather you do not want but it might be worth a stop by.

      Emergency / Storm Lightning , What's Everyone Useing ?

Aladdin lamps. Very good light and a fair amount of heat too. I also have a couple Kero Sun Moonlighter's that I use this time of year for heat but they produce a decent amount of light. An Aladdin lamp with a quart of K1 kerosene can last 12 hours. A Moonlighter with 1.7 gallons of K1 can...

      Calling all Johnson Safe owners...

My door is 1/4" and the pocket? Jam?, Frame?, whatever you call the part of the safe the door recesses into is 1/2" all around with reenforced 1/4" steel to equal 3/4" where the bolts touch. A nickel will fit all around but a nickel and dime stacked will not even come close to fitting. I hang...

Radio to only listen to ham.

I too am new to ham radio and have yet to get my ticket but I am studying and will in time. I do not transmit. Period. But I listen often. I did plenty of research and decided on what was best for me and the possible situation(s) I could find myself in. I bought a couple Yaesu FT 60's used...

      New Shop in Noblesville

I was in on Thursday the 16th. I have been a customer of theirs before out of their garage in Carmel. Decent selection on the racks and they were still unpacking and he can get you most anything you want. I really hope they do well there and I will be a patron again.

      cast iron cookware

I would bet the bottom has some serious sulphur pitting. Rust looks like rust and sulphur pitting looks more like holy crap what happened to my pan. Years of use on a coal stove might be the culprit.

Looking for a 20 inch propane or gas stove that can be converted to lp. Max width is 22.5" for the kitchen space I have. I need the small apartment size unit, NOT the normal home kitchen size. This is to replace a current electric unit that is 22.5". Decent condition and functional please...
