DNA testing, surprises, and living with the consequences

I did the 23 and me. Indicated that I scored in the 85th percentile for Neanderthal Traits. My wife and children said "well duh". I'm not sure how to take that.:dunno: R :patriot:

      Black walnuts dropping early

I have about 50 of the darn things around my house. We always get a mid summer drop just like the apple trees. Spent all day yesterday cleaning empty walnuts out of the enclosed floor of our sun room where come to find out a Raccoon has been living. Didn't realize they ate walnuts. Three (yes 3)...

      An odd thing happened yesterday

I only carry when I am wearing pants. I've been thinking about a shoulder holster so I can carry all the time. R:patriot:

      FYI HP ENVY laptop users

Bought a 17in Envy on Dec 23 on sale at Costco. Used it for three weeks. Longest time that it ever lasted on battery power was 1hr 45min. Thank you Costco for your return policy. Switched to an Acer F-15. Runs all day on one charge. Unfortunately it is only 15in. I think I can adjust... Randy...

      Freeloading Chickens

Best layers I've ever had was a trio of ISA Browns. Each gave an egg a day for almost two years. I've also had Golden Comets, Rhode Island Reds, and Buff Orpington's. None could touch the Browns. R:patriot:

      Your First World Problems

The washer/dryer in my Motor Home takes FOREVER to do a load of laundry. I'm also very disturbed by the amount of noise the #2 Air Conditioner makes. :dunno: R:patriot: P.S. Marry Christmas

Building a primitive wattle and daub hut from scratch.

He does a heck of a job. I'm a bit skeptical about his roof but the rest looks very sound.

      Wrecked by uninsured driver

Called my agent to verify my coverage. He said his latest data indicates over 20% of accidents in Indiana involve one motorist that does not have insurance. I didn't ask but assume he has some report from State Farm. He said he gets a call every day from someone wanting insurance just long...

Where to go for an MRI?

I needed a lower back MRI. Shopped around a lot. MRI Solutions on North Meridian out the door $450 cash. Cheaper than what the insurance negotiated price would have been and included the radiologist reading and a disk to take with you. Quote from a couple of "hospital" controlled places were...
