Carry at the Indy 500 2023

Indeed. I find it interesting the 'double standard' for those coming in via vehicle vs those walking in. Probably due to how much longer it would take to get all of the vehicles in if they pulled everyone out and searched them individually and how long it would take to remove everything from...

Carry at the Indy 500 2023

Last year when driving in (infield parking) they stopped cars in blocks and had dogs sniff around them. I wasn’t directly searched nor was my truck. I suspect if I wanted to I could bring in a firearm with infield parking unless these dogs can smell firearms / gun powder (I have no idea). The...

The Staccato CS finally came in!

Didn’t make it to the range yet. Life is busy! Will be going Tuesday at the latest if I don’t make it anywhere Sunday. I have about 500 rounds I’m going to put through it.

The Staccato CS finally came in!

Ordered this guy back when it was announced as I've been wanting a 2011 style firearm that's a bit more compact and easier to conceal. It got to RangeUSA in Greenwood last week and I just got to go pick it up. They apparently had a Staccato event there on Friday where the executives were there...

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

I don’t see any whining before your post whining about a discussion. This is a discussion forum after all. But it’s ok - no worries - you’re welcome to discuss as well just as I’m welcome to respond to your post. That is the nature of a discussion forum. I’m turning 37 soon although I am not...

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

I agree - and since a separate thread on the specific issue I wanted to post about already existed - I replied there instead of making yet another new thread.

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

To be clear I am not arguing with you - just expressing my opinion to which you can agree or disagree [that is your right]. While another user in the other thread may have been referring to things in this thread, I was not. I would not make a whole separate new thread on the ATF FAQ oopsie...

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

The ATF making a mistake in their FAQ isn't a new rule and has nothing to do with braces. I came to INGO to make a new thread on the issue when I found the FAQ issue but one already existed so I replied to it. I would never have replied to the Brace thread about the FAQ issue because while...

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

[Re: NFA Possession in the presence of the registered owner]. Not sure why this thread was merged back in to the brace thread when it wasn't about braces but alas, here we are.

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

So yeah.... I came here to make a thread on this but found this thread instead so here I am replying. I guess this means that I cannot even let my children fire a 22LR with a suppressor on it unless the suppressor is in a trust and the kids are on that trust? Anybody know what actual law...

Looking to get into 1911 world

No matter what - if it's for carry - run ~500 rounds through it. If it's a range gun - eh - have fun with it ;).

Looking to get into 1911 world

I've gone both expensive [Wilson Combat] and cheaper [Kimber] and both have been fantastic. I did have to do some fine tuning on the Kimber - mostly the extractor - but that was just because I'm picky.

      3D printers

It's a great machine. If you need any help with it at all don't hesitate to ping me. I don't consider myself an expert but I'm happy to help if I can.

Baldwin "The trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger."

Oh really... I did not know that. Will have to go read it.

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

Very interesting video. Basically everything I found out in my research... Would have been great to find this - would have saved me a ton of work! ;)

That's the way it always is though. The government is tax-funded. If you ever win anything from the government - it comes from that funding. The real win would be if the suit got the rule/law changed.

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

So I was doing some research on this whole situation trying to understand it. Researching the NFA and why an SBR needs a tax stamp and registered where as a pistol or rifle does not, etc. So it seems, from my understanding, NFA was originally designed to make all gun ownership cost...

The home range is coming along

I really want somewhere that I can fire my suppressed firearms without earpro, if I wish, and I can't do that at a public range no matter what. Beyond that - shooting from the draw can happen at some ranges, with permission, on a limited basis. So I mostly have done dry fire on the draw. Not...
