A must read for survival or preparation

I really liked all the Rawles books and the Forschten books. Any other similar books you'd recommend?

      Sub 2000 Thread

Loved the mag interchangeability. Loved the folding aspect. Had alot of jam problems (10%) possibly due to not putting butt hard against shoulder. Too long to be a pistol too short to have 100 yard range. No longer own. Loved the innovation.

Questioning the Paradigms We Accept, Part I: Food when the SHTF

I expect we'll eat stored food for a year at most and homegrown food after that.

Where is a Mormon cannery nearby?

Visited their store in Indy today. Nice folks! Many items are packaged for 20 or 30 year shelf life. Prices were about twice what Walmart sells in plastic bags.

      Trump and the Mafia

I predict that, if nominated, Trump will be accused of strong mob ties. NYC construction unions are plagued with them I've read. Here are examples: http://www.nytimes.com/1988/04/30/nyregion/mob-role-in-new-york-construction-depicted.html...

Safe (But Accessible) Rifle Storage w/Children

Cable lock. Inexpensive and allows you to place rifle where you want. Hide the key or wear it on a necklace. Marion Co. used to give them out free.

How not to faint at the sight of blood

I grew up on a hog farm. We butchered in the front yard. Sledge hammer works best. Then cut the throat to bleed out. I do not like human autopsy footage whether fake or real. The smell of vomit gags me. Use Vicks on your nose to mask bad smells!

I need to put a cat out of its misery

Shovel. Quick and quiet when applied carefully. No loud noise. Sorry for your loss.

      SHTF: Phases of unfolding disaster?

I think that studying the onset of the Great Depression would be beneficial. That scenario is the most likely to occur rather than a full on SHTF/zombie apocalypse.
