      Pacifica hybrid?

I had a Pacifica Hybrid and a Sienna Hybrid as rental cars two weeks ago. The Pacifica was nice, but the Sienna was mo'betta....35mpg+.

      Less than 20%

I'm 40, all my cars are automatic. That said, I learned to drive at 14 in a VW-powered dune buggy and can drive my old man's SS396. I'm also thinking of buying a prepped Miata as a track car, which hurts my feeling a bit less having a cage/harness/aero. About 5 years ago I test drove a Focus...

Indiana at risk of losing its industrial dominance if it doesn’t decarbonize, report says

"American Council for Energy-Efficiency Economy and Citizens Action Coalition" That sounds in absolutely no way objective or unbaised. Indiana ranks #12 in the country for wind generation, and our climate (not weather, climate), especially in the northern 2/3 of the state, simply is not...

The Real Costs of Electric Car Ownership - CNET

I had a 2023 Chevy Bolt as an Uber last week in a northern location still getting snow...15min ride but I was quite impressed with the car. Comfortable, nicely furnished for a non-luxury car, LOTS of legroom in the back seat, and while smooth I honestly didn't notice a ton of difference in road...

      Aviation

Any PA28 is a piece of cake to fly, stalls like a dream, and is rather difficult to get into a spin. GREAT trainers and cross-country platforms. Cessnas are more 'fun' and more forgiving for teaching landings, but not as stable for XC and less forgiving of an uncentered slip ball.

Rural Suppliers; They Ain’t Who We Think They Are…

TSC is 5 minutes from my house, Rural King 20 minutes. TSC gets 99% of my business, cuz it mostly has what I need, although RK has a LOT more stuff (as it should, its a much larger store) Orscheln is another good option, but its 30+ minutes away.

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

A Form 1'd Title II SBR can be converted back to a Title I non-SBR by sending a letter to the ATF. https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/atf-letter-requesting-removal-of-a-sbr-sbs-title-2-status Title II NFA items can be transferred to an heir...

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

I don't like redefining historical definitions to fit a new politically-desired outcome, like "machine gun" and "rifle" have been recently. That said, Given the explicit language of the (proposed) Final Rule and FAQ, if one already owned Title II items and also owned firearms with a stabilizing...

Southwest Airlines cancelled flights to Indianapolis

Every year, after the holidays, there are ground delay programs to airports in Florida & the islands due to traffic. In this case, there was a ground stop issued due to volume. Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center handles all the traffic in/out of FL and there's only so much airspace...

Southwest Airlines cancelled flights to Indianapolis

A major winter storm impacting fully 1/3 of the nation two days before Christmas will disrupt travel. Southwest got double-whammy'd because DEN got smacked on Wednesday which biggly disrupted Southwest's network, then the next day it moved to Chicago which made a bad situation worse. Timing...

Kentucky Utilities/LG&E were doing rolling 30min blackouts yesterday...my parents in Lexington were spared. I volunteer for a micro-reactor in my back yard.

Is it ethical to hunt deer with a 223 or 5.56x45mm

I've taken two deer with .224 centerfires - one headshot at 65ish yards with an 80gr Amax at 2900fps+ muzzle velocity from a 223AI, terminal performance was "impressive". The other was a neck shot at a similar range with a 77gr Nosler Custom Competition at 2650fps+ muzzle velocity from an 18"...
