I stopped shooting competitively a few years ago and decided to get rid of some excess inventory. These are all for pickup in Elkhart. Please PM me with questions.
SPF Zero 38cal 148gr HBWC, 530 total. The are lubed, .358" diameter. $50.
Zero 38cal 158gr SWC, 1000 total. These are lubed...
What ammo are you shooting out of it? Is that the only ammo you'll use?
Like a couple others have said, 1911 recoil springs need to be tailored to the load. In my 1911s I run between 11 and 22 lbs springs depending on the gun and load combination.
The only guns I'm concerned about dry firing is rimfire, don't want the firing pin to indent the barrel/chamber. I dry fire (without snap caps) my 1911s and revolvers 2-3 times as much as I shoot them, no concern at all.
Not at all, this was before Lapua offered them in 22-250. I used to use Norma brass but would blow out primer pockets in 4 shots, Lapua lasted a lot longer.
I did that about 10 years ago. I used Lapua 30-06 brass and formed them into 22-250, then shot them in my Ackley chambered rifle. In the end I had 100 pcs of perfectly formed brass for that gun but it was an arduous process...
I assume you have a custom barrel on that rifle? I haven't seen a factory chambered 22-250 with an 8 twist to stabilize those bullet weights.
With that aside your limitations are the max length the gun can feed and extract a loaded round, and the distance to the lands. Like you said, you can...
Wow...!
I can't believe I'm the only one to say this and it's not in the poll, 38 SUPER!
I carry a custom 1911 CCO in 38 Super. My defensive loads are pushing a 125gr Gold Dot close to 1400 fps.
