I would go with the shotgun. I keep buying new rifles but never new shotguns. The shotgun I have is good for everything I need. Can put meat on the table, any kind of meat, can be good at home defense, can put a deer on the ground at 150+ yards. Kinda silly to shoot a squirrel with a 270 or a 460...
im wanting a permanent fix. I know the helicoils will work wonders but this gun will be a boring day go shoot a can until I cant tell its a can anymore kinda gun. I take care of my guns but like i said, this gun will see a lot of wear. Im not sure if the helicolis will hold up to ME.
I'm sure this has been addressed before somewhere but I can not find it,
I recently bought a 1960's Ruger 10-22 from a gun shop for 120$ Got it home, cleaned up, refinished, re-blued, put on a scope mount....then the reason it had no scope on it in the first place reared its ugly head. The 4...
I think my $50 tumbler works great. Before I had that I just used some good old TLC and elbow grease. If you were never going to use the ice cream maker for making ice cream again and use it only to clean brass I don't see a problem with that. Good way to reuse something that you don't use any...
I plan on using factory ammo for this deer season but will try to hit it hot and heavy on the reloading for next season. I agree that not just using a load someone else is using is a good idea, im just looking for a good ballpark to stay in. Once I find something close to what is a good load for...
Yeah I agree what works for them wont always be for me but I just wanted somewhere to start. I'm also not about to buy the 65$ box of Barnes ammo hehe. I'm glad I at least have the velocity gain issue sorted out. If velocity gain is not pronounced then I can just use the pistol data. Thank you...
I'm wanting something that someone has loaded and shot through the 20" Encore barrel. I want to know their results as far as hard evidence on what works best for them. I could load 5 shells from each set of load data but as of right now, in nursing school, I have not the time nor the money. I...
:dunno:I have searched and searched in all my reloading books, internet, and other shooters for some load data for the 460 s&w. I can find a few loads in my hornady book that show pistol only. I was wanting something more updated with the rifle listed as a .460. Does anyone know where I can find...
I used a black tarp and sat it on a picnic table in the sun for about 2 days, every hour or so I would go wipe it off. Worked like a charm and was easy to do. basically, let it set, wipe it off, repeat.
I grew up in a 870 house...I swore by them until I bought a 835 for turkey hunting. After buying the 835 moss I ended up getting a great deal on a new 500 in 20 gauge. I bought it for my girlfriend, comes with 2 barrels (1 is set up for turkey choke the other is a slug barrel). I love it. once...
if I have been told correctly, yes.
But after shooting the .460 and its recoil is not too bad, I dont think i would even mess with the 454 or 45lc unless I had ammo around or were reloading them just to shoot some paper.
Ive been reading about the .460 rifle in the TC encore kicking like a angry mule. I'm here to say that my 6ft 3 170lb frame shot this and it felt like a slug through a 20 gauge shotgun. The worst part to me was the barrel jump. It does have a good "POP" to it. It caught me off guard for sure. I...
