      I would say wether there is any requirement to or not, its probably a good idea. Police officers have a very dangerous job and there are a lot of idiots out there that would like to hurt them just because they are LEO's. So don't take them by surprise with a ccw, they will appreciate the heads...

      I can see both sides, I come down some where in the middle. I currently utilize .38, 9mm, .45 and .40 in my hand guns and 12 GA for my shotgun. I try to buy ammo pretty regular so I have a nice stock pile.

      The problem is, there is only a half hearted effort on the part of the government to be engaged in this war. The current administration doesnt even want to name the enemy. If we where to take the war to terrorism with the goal of completely shutting it down, things would move alot more quickly
