I have a new Browning X-bolt medallion that I bought because I love the looks of it but, I just can’t justify the need. I do have a set of browning x-bolt scope mounts new in packaging I will include.
Engraved receiver, actual wood stock, 3+1 mag, 26” barrel.

Looking for 1300.
Looking to see if anyone would have interest in this set up before I install it. Has a stainless low profile gas block and tube new with it.
I am thinking I want to go with a longer barrel.

Is anyone seeing large rifle primers for sale in shops around Indiana or the gun shows?
Curious to see what the prices people are seeing in our state.
Post what you’ve seen.
Right now the best I’m seeing online is about $190 per 1000 with shipping and hazmat etc…
So I used some electrical silver solder to secure the lug and it seemed like with the proper flux it pulled in to the joint well and is sturdy.
The barrel was able to get indexed correctly finally. Had to file the barrel face just slightly to get it clocked right. Now I have to check head space.
I had to go to 80 on the stock I’m currently working on as well. Mostly to just get the old finish to come off. Nothing wrong with going that low as long as you don’t gouge it and work your way back up.

I’m learning gun smithing and am restoring guns as a hobby. I am a competent machinist and engineer. Missing parts ok. Damaged wood ok. I’ll take a look at anything.

I think there was just a little difference in the quality of the threads between the two rifles. These were made in the 40s...
So I did freeze the barrel and heat the reciever slightly and I did get it much farther. And unfortunately there in a thread in there that is a little damaged from the original barrel being stuck. I have filed it pretty well to fix it, but that’s where it stopped this time.
