If you have a good set of calipers, measure the OAL of the carrier. It should be no more than 6.875".
Remove the bolt and drop the carrier into the receiver. You shouldn't feel the carrier key interact with the gas tube on the way forward. If the gas tube is binding in the key this can cause...
That's some solid performance out of a rimfire rifle!
Once you set up a MIL or MOA scope with matching reticle & turrets it's very easy to see why that setup is used by pretty much everyone in long range shooting. Like you said, it's almost funny how easy it becomes to make adjustments.
What...
That's the truth! I floundered for a while trying to decide between the standard chassis and the MTR version, but read the MTR chamber doesn't like cheap or high velocity ammo. Went with the standard figuring I could always swap the barrel later. Absolutely no need to.
Sorry for the thread...
I really considered this model before I bought my 16" chassis 457. My biggest concern was the cheek height, which it does seem like you're running into a bit.
For what it's worth, mine really shoots CCI standard velocity well. I've messed around with all sorts of fancy match ammo, and the CCO...
My CZ 457 chassis gun is a factory Bentz chamber. It absolutely hammers with CCI standard velocity. 5 shot groups under and inch at 100 yards with the cheap stuff is pretty good IMO.
I'm not seating bullets into the rifling, and I haven't had any issues extracting chambered rounds.

I'll start looking into some of the options presented early this week.
A few folks mention qualifications at...
Good morning all!
As a recent transplant to the Hoosier state, I'm trying to find a new range to frequent near where I live. I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I ran a quick search and came up empty handed.
What range facilities are available in or near Wells County? I...

I know I am a newer member, so using the classifieds is a bit of a hot topic here. However, my fiance just took on some unexpected expenses so it's time to cull the herd. My listings are cross posted from AR-15 dot com, where I have a longer history and more...
Didn't mean to start a fire with the machined vs MIM debate.
I agree there are differences in quality with all components, and certainly there are good and bad parts manufactured both ways.
The unavoidable truth is due to the nature of MIM construction, it is possible though unlikely for a...
Something to keep in mind is current Colt is utilizing MIM parts in the fire control, as well as some other parts like safeties, etc. This isn't the death of the pistol as some would allude, but those parts simply won't last as long as a good billet machine part IMO.
Dan Wesson (who like...
