      2022 Deer season

I spent a couple of decades out in the cold each season. Either on the ground or in an open tree stand. My very first day deer hunting was a disaster. I had read "everything I needed to know" from hunting magazines of the day. I washed all of my clothes and coveralls (insulated of course) in...

      2022 Deer season

Calm, clear, and cold. Looks like it could be a good day. We'll see... At least I'm nice and cozy. Coffee going, beef stew for lunch. Wearing tennis shoes at the moment but that may need to change. Heater just got going good so may be alright.

      Tankless Water Heater guys

If you have a 2" line coming into the meter, you should be fine. You may need to have the meter changed to accommodate the new load.

That will be interesting in years to come, if he survives.

Man I can't believe what they are asking for new lever guns. I got one of the later Remington Marlin 1895's in .45-70 and gave just over $500 for it new. It's not stainless, or a laminated stock, and it came without glass. Still, it's a well made firearm that shoots to point of aim. I like blued...

Boy I hope this wind dies down soon. I don't expect to see much of anything moving with 40 mph winds.

This is one of my pet peeves. How hard is it to count? If the clerk doesn't count my change back to me, I stand there and count it in front of them If I'm running a cash register, I want to know I'm giving correct change and not coming up with a short drawer.

Those were the days my friend ...

People give me a sideways look when I tell them that I used to buy .22lr ammo at a gas station at $.25 p/50 rounds. Not only the price, but I would buy them myself at 10-11 years old. No I.d. required, not even a note from my mother. I used to buy a case of PBR in bottles at the neighborhood...

      Long Guns

2-300 yards is easily doable with a .223 or .7.62x39. Mini 14 maybe?

Those were the days my friend ...

      I'd swear I recall paying $.25 for a 50 count box of .22 lr.

When the new Ruger made Marlins first came out, Cheaper Than Dirt had one advertised for ONLY $3995.00 but they were in stock!

      Wood burning stove suggestion?

I have a very nice Cawley wood stove. It has 4 doors, two on the front, and one on each side. You could open both side doors and throw a log through the stove and out the other side. It will take logs up to 24" long and has a 6" exhaust. Unfortunately I can't use it right now and it's in...

Man am I glad I bought mine when I did. I gave almost $400 less than that for mine and it was brand new. Beautiful craftsmanship and well made. I've taken a couple of deer with mine.
