Done mowing. Ready to cover the mulch and call it a day. It's been a productive week, and I'm glad I took the two vacation days. I could really use another 5 yards of mulch (at least) but I think I'm done for this year.

I hope Purdue wins, but I'm not really into the whole thing.
I grew up in rabid football country (south Texas) and our over crowded 5A school would not even support a single basketball team when I graduated in '74. It was all football, FFA, baseball or archery and shooting sports.

We had no winter so the need for the gym was questionable, except for the girls volleyball teams.

So my interest in the basketball playoffs is acquired, but I always want to see local teams do well.
From the looks of things we are lucky to have Purdue in the game still.

Yeah, it's been a long time since they've made it this far. Actually my degree is from Purdue (albeit via IUPUI), but I've just never gotten into college sports.

College sports, in general, is a little new to me but basketball is even newer.

As a senoir in high school, I was 5'11" and 190 pounds, but I could never make the football team, only the practice squad. I played baseball and boxed fairly well.

I was good at baseball, but the UIL rules (like IHSAA ruling body) in place at the time, we had only three boxing weight classes. My weight, if I hit over 189 1/2 pounds, I was the lightest heavy weight. Scary place to be!

If I could weigh in under 189 1/2, I was the heaviest middle weight.
I did OK, either way, though.

Interest in college ball came quite a bit later.

I tried football in 8th grade. Hurt myself running laps at the first practice (Achilles tendon). Tried wrestling but just so happened to be in the same weight class as the guy that took state championship all 4 years in high school. I spent most of my time counting the lights on the gym ceiling. :):

Finally found gymnastics and did better there. At least there, the only one trying to hurt me was me. :):
