    Day 1:

Landed in Lisbon. Airport has a metro station, very convenient. Got to hotel, 2.5 hour nap, then out. Saw Christmas market, beach, got general lay of the neighborhood. Got off tourist area for dinner. Ate fried cod dish "bacalhau" which is famous national dish. Ate custard tarts at 2 places because amazing. Beer is cheaper than soda and roughly on par with water... so day drinking is the frugal option.

Lisbon is a neat city! We had a great time there this summer. This is by the national maritime museum and is the place for custard pastries we were told And very popular that day.

Last time i was in Lisbon, we had a party. It was a big deal at the time.

" The violence peaked when several hundred U.S. sailors and Marines besieged a local police station where up to 50 other servicemen were being held, Cardoso said. "They hurled a police motorcycle against the doors to try and break in and free their comrades," he said. "They only dispersed when police reinforcements arrived and drove their cars into the crowd."

"A bar fight in Lisbon, Portugal, escalated into a brawl between hundreds of U.S. and British sailors and police, leaving cars overturned, windows smashed and almost 150 people injured, U.S. and Portuguese officials said Thursday .

As many as 500 sailors and Marines from three Hampton Roads-based amphibious ships and one British aircraft carrier were involved in the incident Wednesday night."

    Day 2:

    Rainy day, so indoors activities.

    Calouste Gulbenkian Museum

Customer: You've seen an elephant, right?
Artist: Of course. Big, mostly boneless legs, pointy things on the head.

This one isn't broken by accident, purposefully had a former Pharoah chiseled off. Some tablets had names and images removed as well, or renamed as someone else.

Looks like a great trip so far.

What are you taking pictures with, a camera or just your cellphone? They are excellent quality and your lighting/highlights are spot-on.

Just a Samsung S10+ . Great camera on the phone, when the new one comes out and the S22+ drops in price I may upgrade as it is even better.

I have an S22. Traded in my gifted S7 and got the new one for free. This was thru Verizon and probably expired by now.

You can't do anything until you get back to the States so we will have to deal with the sub-par pictures.

The detail in that statue on post #14 is amazing.
