Twenty days ago, 11 August I took off early from work and went north instead of west. I stopped by to see CM since he had mentioned he had a coin he wanted to give me. Looking through my texts I hadn't seen CM and CKW since 12 February (along with @Bigtanker and Little Tanker.)

Tim and I talked at his kitchen table for about an hour. Physically? This wasn't the friend I knew. He still had the spirit, and this was still Tim AKA Churchmouse. He knew what was coming, he'd been through this before. He wanted to live his remaining days on his terms, and that's exactly what he did.

Ugh...I knew this was close, CM, but I had really hoped it would never come. I'll make sure Cindy has plenty of sassafras for the firepit addiction you got her hooked on. And John will make sure she's covered for the wood stove.

What I wouldn't give to hear your stories one more time...about souping up engines and and all of the shenanigans you got in to around the IMS. You apologized about going on and on with your adventures when we got to hang out after the race this last Memorial Day; you had no idea I'd be happy sitting there taking it all in till the next sunrise. You were feeling spunky after quitting chemo and Cindy was beautiful sitting next to you; she was just glowing with joy to have you there. You and your family were a breath of fresh air and we were so honored to be able to share a meal with you.

I've emptied my box of tissue just making it this far in this thread, and stole the roll of toilet tissue out of the bathroom trying to finish writing this. You would hate this much attention, but you would take it all to heart. LOL, that reminds me...there was a unicorn picture of you floating around somewhere...I think @printcraft made it. I still chuckle about that one.

I'm heartbroken that I didn't pick up my 1911 early enough to have you "fix" it, I may have to live with it the way it is and every time that snappy thing annoys me it will remind me of my dear friend and how much he's missed. I am so thankful you are no longer in pain, I'll continue praying for the family. You are missed, my friend.

First off, you're text is HUGE!

But going back through all of my texts with CM......

Yeah. What a human being. He was so thrilled with Little Tanker shooting his first AR, he sent him a huge box of parts and mags to help him build his own AR. He got to see him shoot it at the SGE this year.

So much more in each of our personal lives too.
    That's on an iPhone 13... it's HUGE!!!

I literally have no words. I am thankful we had the chance to meet up one last time several months ago, have a chat with him (and Cindy), and got to see how big the terrorists have become. I'll cherish that last meeting.

    You will be missed, Tim.

Holy crap, what happened? I’m still pretty dang new here, so I didn’t know him personally. Was he older? Sick?

Either way, I’m so sorry to hear this! My condolences to his family, he was clearly an amazing guy! :( May he rest in peace!
Cancer. (his second go at it) And he decided bravely to wave off chemo that did more harm than good and spend the rest of his life on his terms. Quite the CM move.

    Pretty much Michigan.
My condolences to all the friends and family heartbroken today. Tim may have smacked alot of our hands but he was also the first one to help anyone and everyone he could. Judging by the stories he told on here he set the bar for living life to the fullest. Hes done more things with his short time on this rock than i can even wrap my head around lol. We can all take comfort in the fact that hes no longer suffering and by now hes surely located BA and a cheeseburger at the kilt in the sky. Im sure given the option he would want us to celebrate his life as apposed to mourning his loss. Everyone fondle your 1911s tonight in his memory, and may he rest in peace.
