I wondered when they were gonna go after this little vulnerability. If they can bully two companies into bending the knee, gun commerce in the US ceases to function. The barriers to entry are so high that nobody is ever going to spool up another UPS or FedEx. And if you tried a gun-specific shipping service, it would double the price of every firearm on the market...as well as requiring Brinks-level security.

Watch for FedEx to either follow suit or dramatically jack up gun shipping costs.

UPS has really gone downhill in the past few years. Used to be they were the top shipper, these days they are trailing. No where near being the professionals that they used to be. Can't help but notice the expensive sloppiness out of the company, on top of more and more driver nonchalance.

I fear this may be the beginning of the end of UPS, as we know them anyway.

Refusing to deliver is one thing, if it was refused when presented.
    After accepted...

    And threatening to destroy.
That sounds like theft, or fraud.
This. You are paid to move a box from point A to point B. Not decide midstream you dont like it and to throw it away. Yes, if the name on the box isnt yours and you are taking permanent possession, its blatant theft.

Now returning it to the sender is another, slightly acceptable thing. And legal.

That was my thought. I imagine that there are quite a few firearms in the system somewhere that will simply disappear. I wonder if ATF is going to demand proof that they destroyed every firearm that goes missing in the shipping pipeline.

The saddest part of all of this is that Fedex is abysmal. They seem to deliver things to totally random addresses, days after they claim it was "signed for."
Yep they are absolutely horrible. I agree 100%.
I've had a few go arounds with them saying they delivered a package and they never did.
The driver finds the package a few days later says it fell behind something.
Which I ask why the driver would mark it delivered if he lost it?

Last few packages I've got from UPS were smashed all to hell.

Fedex isn't doing much better, I've had to run down the truck numerous times for giving me someone else's package. Typically the drivers scoff and act as if they couldn't care less.

Only shipper I have good luck with consistently is USPS.

Fedex sources out there delivery to another company they don't actually hire there drivers anymore, and now they are requiring photo id and taking a picture of it on hazmat items, wonder where this is going?????

Yes, FedEx is terrible. Two of my last three deliveries were delivered to a neighbor on a different street. Fortunately, they are good people and brought the package to me. I did after wasted calls to them catch the driver. Complete idiot and told me "Sometimes I get confused"! At least she admitted she was a dumb***

Fedex is indeed hot garbage. UPS gets it there as fast as they can just to get it out of the system. e.g. Chicago to Indy is 1 day service. So you get your ground package next day most of the year.(but not guaranteed)

Fedex will deliver strictly on schedule. They happen to be able to get it there overnight? (like UPS) If you didnt pay for next day delivery, it sits at the destination depot for as many days as required so that you get no better service than you pay for. Years ago I needed a part BAD. But the place I had to order from would only do default fedex with no way to change speed. It was sent 3 day delivery, but arrived in Castleton the next day to languish for 2 more days. I went up and explained the situation and asked for my package. I was told she was not allowed to give it to me until the day of delivery, even though it was just sitting in the back waiting to be delivered. If I needed it sooner, I could wait 2 more days and come back and she could give it to me instead of the delivery driver on the delivery day. But no sooner. So I could get it a whopping 4-6 hours early. :xmad:

I've had that happen as well.
I checked Google maps and it perfectly shows right where I live.
I'm not sure what application they use, or if those they hire know how to use one which would be ridiculous since I can figure it out and I'm no smartphone expert by a long way.

Our local UPS guys is pretty good. Packages on the porch, even if heavy. No wrong deliveries I can recall. Even rings the doorbell.

FedEx is pretty terrible. They dump anything from envelopes to huge boxes in the driveway. Gotta look for them before pulling out of the garage.

USPS will shove ANYTHING into the mailbox. Do Not Bend, Fragile, Oversized - it ALL goes in. Caught her once pulling up near the garage man door to toss a box. She didn't see me working in the yard.

Amazon seems to "get it". On the porch, rings the bell, sends a photo along with the delivery notification.

I guess I should be glad these carries are making SO MUCH MONEY they have to turn away paying customers.
