    Easy choice for me…

Adjustable parallax, fine duplex reticle, lightweight, excellent glass…

At the range, 9x might be a little light. I have Leupolds on nearly all of my rifles, but I have a vortex diamondback 6-24 on one of my 457s. I am happy with it. For that type and distance, I really wanted a reticle with an open cross hair to see tiny targets. The standard duplex reticles tend to cover up the tiny center dot of the bullseye at any real distance. And the most solid offering I've found from Leupold for this application and price range is the mark ar
mod 1 4-12x. It has a bit more mag and ao.

Guessing you are talking bench shooting?

You might spend closer to $500 to hit that bang for buck range.

    Bushnell MatchPro 6x24
    Swampfox Patriot 6x24
    Arken SH-4
    Vortex Diamondback 6x24

If you want to stay cheaper - maybe the Hawke Vantage IR 6-24.

    Pretty much nailed it.

I have the Bushnell MatchPro 6x24 on a 455 Varmint, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. My only complaints are the eye-box isn't very forgiving and the numbers are next to the hashmarks on the reticle and they can potentially get in the way (they should have put them out on the side of the "tree" like every other reticle design on the planet). The glass is solid for the price and there's a decent amount of adjustment travel if you need it, generous parallax adjustment range.

Another option would be to look at a fixed scope like the SWFA 10x or 20x. Have used these in the past and they are great value options for target shooting.

For budget I have an old Nikon 3-9 rimfire scope. Killed a bunch of squirrels over the years. I'd look for a A&A refurb 3-9/2-7 crossfire ii. In terms of value for the money you can't beat them.

Personally I don't see why you would need 24x on a scope you're limiting to 150 yards, unless you're shooting some kind of pin match at a crazy distance.

Some bench rest guys will use 30-50x scopes. If you're shooting paper and want to see your hits/groups at 100-150 yards that 16-24x range is nice to have. Also, since optics tend to fall apart a little bit at the end of their magnification range, you can always back it off and be in the sweet spot for a given optic.

Man I wish I was good enough to be that accurate with a rimfire past 100 yards. I can shoot maybe 2-3 inch groups, but not enough to really care to see beyond 9 power zoom at 100. Granted, I've never shot a true bench rest rifle. Just the 10/22.

Im running a leupold 2-7 rimfire moa on a tikka t1x and i really like it. Is more magnification cool for some things? Yeah but for 99% of what i do and the weight difference i wouldn't swap it for a higher powered scope. Also i have a 6-24x on another cz and i cant shoot it any better within 150 yards. On 7x At 150 yards i can still put the reticle on a 1.5" square. I havent tried anything smaller yet. I like the bdc marks too. Short lightweight rifle with a light scope is my preference. It really depends on your goals with the rifle

..... formerly near the Wild Turkey
    Leopold 6.5-20 x 40 efr.
Find a used one then send it back for target turrets and a 1/4 minute target dot reticle.
    Mine is awesome.

I don't believe Leopold is doing any custom work right now. I inquired about sending in a couple Scopes that have the fine duplex reticle and replacing with a different reticle. The fella I talked to did not know when they would start doing work again, if at all.

You have time buy it from their Amazon store.

You can get this free shipping and 40% off with code today only.

It would run you about $278 for this scope. Deal is over at midnight tonight.
