    Let's be realistic folks.

Russia launched and entirely unprovoked attack on Ukraine. That there would be repercussions to this attack was inevitable. ANY administration, democratic or republican, would have responded in some way.

Sanctions have been used now for decades. That there would be severe sanctions for a massive attack on Ukraine was easily predictable. This is hurting everyone, the USA and our allies, and especially Russia.

Russian companies stocks are bad. Their value has plummeted so bad that Russia hasn't even allowed its stock market to be open for a week! Link: https://markets.businessinsider.com...-sanctions-ukraine-invasion-ruble-2022-3?op=1

The value of the largest Russian bank, Sberbank, has fallen from slightly less than $15 / share to less than $0.55 in a month! (Except that you cannot buy it now) https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SBRCY?p=SBRCY&.tsrc=fin-srch

Let's not forget that when Pres Trump imposed tariffs on China prices also went up, some very high, although admittedly not as high as gas.

And we as Americans don't have it so bad at all, at least not compared to our European friends. The worldwide price of gas by county puts the USA in the cheaper third of the world. https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/

Please do not misunderstand me, I do NOT like this! When I went to work this morning in Fort Wayne the price was basically $4.00 / gallon. When I went home it was $4.25.

The difference is that I am not shocked and do not blame President Biden. We would have done very similar no matter who was president. I'll just be glad when it's over.

    Regards,

    Doug
Russia doesn't care. They've been living under sanctions for years. They're building a parallel economy to live without the US sphere of influence, and they still hold Europe by the heat of their homes. What our markets price their banks at isn't going to matter anymore.

We're shooting ourselves in the foot and hoping it'll make Putin's toe hurt in sympathy. They literally do not care. We ran a geopolitical gain of function experiment.

Why the hell is Ukraine our problem anyway? They're not our allies. They're not in NATO. Is this only happening because they wet Hunter's whistle?

Just wait to see what electricity will cost when there are a lot more EVs on the road. ;)

Not to mention, how we will make electricity when demand and prices are much higher. After the coal mines and oil wells are made illegal.

    .
Then add to that when they seek to make people heat their houses electrically - already known to be one of the least efficient or cost-effective ways to do so

Electric heat is actually the most efficient means to heat with. 100% of the heat goes into the conditioned space and none up the flue. It's just insanely expensive to do so.

And a big a** diesel generator to charge all those batteries! If you don't, someone is going to burn fuel for your electricity....

Those Biden supporters have been remarkably absent lately haven't they? Hope they're okay... @CampingJosh @Alpo You guys doing okay? Still happy with your choice? Enjoying the higher prices at the pump and at the grocery stores and... well, just about everywhere? I mean, you can always take solace in the fact that Biden probably doesn't know how to use Twitter, so you've got that going for you.
    Well done DD.

I was going to type a suitable alternative, but no way am I going to trust the INGO net nanny to censor that!
Maybe the net nannies ought to link up with all the other gun forums and organize a march on DC!

I was at Kroger yesterday. It was insane. Long lines and while checking out everyone was talking to each other(not a common thing in this Kroger),the only topics seemed to be inflation(gas and food)and staying out of Ukraine. Felt kind of good actually.

Then my turn came to check out. I had to push my cart out the door with the one arm I had left while trying to using the stump of a leg to exert any forward movement was painful, I made. Getting things into the vehicle was challenging to say the least and the red mist that coated everything kept distracting me. After what seemed like an eternity I headed to my last stop of the day to fill up my vehicle for the final return trip home.....

And how about the LP gas for heating your home??? Our tank was at 12% and hubby was waiting to call for a fill because he figured summer prices would be better. I don't see the prices going down anytime soon so I suggested he call and get it done before it gets even worse.

I'm not sure we made the right call, but they filled it yesterday. $2.89 a gallon. 500 gallon tank and they put in less than $400 gallons...just under $1,200. We have never paid anything close to that for a fill. Time to cut more firewood and use both wood stoves instead of just the main one with the furnace for a back up.
