"Faith" doesn't imply Christianity. Christians don't own the word faith.

    My views dont change that.
    Correct.
Every single one of my drug owi arrests this year denied being under the influence. Every single mj owi denied feeling high. None of them attributed their poor coordination and driving behavior to the drug. Alcohol owis usually admitted that they "knew it was dangerous/had a little too much/made a bad choice" but decided to drive anyway.
Fair, but how many fatal accidents or serious injury accidents have occurred do to ONLY pot vs alcohol or other drugs? Legitimate question I'd really like to know if there is a stat for this.

I'm a pilot also, was taught old school

    The salient quote is:

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots; but there are no old, bold pilots
My grandfather died 2 years ago. He was in his 90s or close to it. We weren't close. He was an alcoholic most of his life. My father as well as my brother have inherented that curse as well and are suffering from it health wise now. My father had stroke about a year ago and has other alcohol related health issues. My brother is in his mid 30s and is being put on medicine for hypertension do to alcohol. Alcohol is literally poison in high enough doses or small doses over time it doesn't matter. But it's legal. With pot most people I still know who smoke, smoke a couple joints after work play video games and chill. Long term health effects are about the same as tobacco and tobacco is legal. It's not good for you no. But like I said earlier I believe in self control and moderation and it's up to the individual. I believe deeply in individual liberty. I smoke but only about 5 cigarettes a day, some days none some times a week or more without one. I drink but only occasionally. Moderation and self control. I also realize I'm not most people and am an atypical example of a former user.

I wonder if legal gun sales will take a drastic drop if pot is legalized, or even legal for medicinal use?

"Legal gun purchases"? Hmmm....do I want a new gun or do I want to smoke a doobie? The word "honest" takes on a new meaning - again.

A former friend of mine, who I actually introduced to shooting, sold all of his guns and moved to Colorado because it's legal there. The kid is a great albeit a little awkward (had a social anxiety disorder) guy. He's still a very sharp kid and a talented programmer. But he decided pot helped him better than meds and shooting stuff. Which I don't get. Maybe I should have brought more tannerite.

Once pot became legal in Michigan, the question that has been brought up is how do you answer the question on the 4473 if you are a recreational user or a MM user.

    Liars lie, cheaters cheat.

I would imagine there can be a few different answers:
    1) Lie about it
    2) Have a friend buy it for you
    3) Buy it from someone on INGO
    4) Don't buy any more guns

I guess it would greatly increase the number of "illegal gun owners" in Indiana.

I have been okay with the legalization of drugs and prostitution for a long time (maybe not surprisingly since reading WF Buckley's argument for it). But I also do not want to subsidize it by providing welfare benefits to people just because they choose to be drug addicts.

Too late, we're subsidizing them now.

    Pretty much Michigan.

Until the ATF clarifies the definition of the word “user” id say its up to your interpretation. Frequent flier = user, anything else is not IMO.

I don't think purple is necessary and for one of the few times in my life I agree with Democrats on something. Pot, prostitution and all manner of other victimless crimes should not be made illegal by government.

If I want to smoke a joint and sell my body for sex to some 19 year old hard body girl with daddy issues, why should that be illegal?

    This.

Could not have said it better myself.

Indiana Democrats want to legalize medical and recreational marijuana. They say it will generate a lot of tax revenue.
Obviously, the next step is to legalize prostitution. It will also generate tax revenue and attract conventions (except the FFA) to the state. Additionally, it will provide employment for unskilled young people who don't want to bother with schooling.

Add purple if you think necessary.

Do you want your pilot 'lifted' when you fly on vacation? How about your surgeon?

How about the guy in the next lane at the range

Are you going to rely on other organizations to promulgate rules to keep you 'safe'?
Because that's just shifting the burden into realms even less subject to regulation and oversight
Yeah because no has ever been under the influence of Pharmaceuticals or alcohol

I would give the analogy of ATF being like a snake laying in the grass. You can pass by it and you'll never know it is there or it will jump out and bite you. It wouldn't surprise me if at some point they will give talking point to the media and politicians of how rampant mj use is among gun owners turning them into crazed homicidal maniacs.

My older brother left as a spark chaser on B52s and came home a pot smoking alcoholic and it took him more than 40 years to hit bottom, and by then his body was shot. He currently has about 1/3 of his bladder left after cancer, is catheterized all the time and is going blind from glaucoma, has COPD and his liver is barely hanging on

Can't say how much or how little to credit to the weed, but that life was often what seemed to drag him back under when he seemed to be making progress. I find the stuff and those who peddle it detestable, feeding off the misery of others just like any other drug dealer

I don't smoke, I don't drink to excess but I do drink a little scotch now and then or wine with dinner. I have no use for other drugs
