The role of the Justice Department is to advance the policy program of the administration as long as it is consistent with the law,” Garland told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

He also stated, "Most of our murders are comitted by firearms".

The government picks on guns because it's an easy target. Big media hates them, they don't vote, and they can't defend themselves, being inanimate objects. Criminals get much more respect from big media, if they aren't voting their friends and relatives are, and they are people.
