Everyone had to shoot this weekend and hardly anyone brought ammo. They somewhat depleted me on most common calibers and will be hitting the reloading room every evening until caught up. 556, 7.62x51, 9mm, 38 special, 10mm, 45acp, 45colt

Loaded up some spicy 44mag 240xtp loads yesterday need to try them out this week. Also got a hundred 300blk 220gr cast bullets loaded. Also picked up the mini chop saw from harbor freight and that makes a heck of a difference when making 300blk brass. I'm either going to make a jig or maybe order a squirrel daddy jig. I have 3 5 gallon buckets of once fired 5.56 brass that I wouldn't mind tapping into for 300blk use. Also have a gallon bucket of nickel plated 5.56 brass that will look pretty cool with the dark green coated 220s.

After getting a little tired of the slow pace of my single press set up, I decided to do a little upgrade, since presses are coming back in stock. My Lee Cast Turret press showed up yesterday and it only took me a few minutes to get it set up in place of one of my single stages (I still have a Lee Cast single stage on my bench, since it's nice and heavy duty and has the ability to handle the dies for the large obsolete stuff like .577 Snider).

I decided to start with .45 ACP, and including the time it took to set up my dies in the one turret that came with the press, I cranked out 100 rounds of .45 in under an hour. That's a huge speed increase from my single stages (even when I was using both of them at the same time to running two operations in a row). And that was with just a funnel in the powder through expanding die and a .7cc dipper. I've got an auto drum measure and the extensions coming, so I think I can get it even faster.

I've started looking at some handle upgrades and maybe the case ejector system from Inline Fabrication. I think I can get it doing pretty good with all that.

Now maybe I'll end up regretting not going full progressive, but I got my turret press for $130 and I just couldn't justify dropping the money for a Dillon or even a Hornady Ammo Plant. I thought about the Lee Progressive, but I read way to many reviews complaining about it not working properly, so I decided against it.

I have enough Unique for about 200 more rounds. After that, I will have switch it to W231 or 700-X. I haven't seen a new can of Unique anywhere in a while. I passed one up last summer not realizing what we were in for.

Unique is one of those powders that I always use. I know it's referred to as flaming dirt, but it works well in a lot areas and produces accurate loads with cast bullets.

    Loading BP?
Not loading them yet. Don't have a piece yet.
And frankly I'm tossing around the options of either buying a cartridge revolver or else having a Pietta .36 caliber 1858 Remington rebored to .43. I do have an extra .36 sitting in the box...

Giving me something to ponder while I'm waiting on the diverticulitis to calm down.

Trying to remember if anybody makes a 1858 conversion in 38, I know they do in 45 Colt. I have one.
