AA 1680 is a great powder for the MAX look at Accurate Arms data for the T/C not the pistol data. Charges for 180 gr bullets range from 25.5 to 30 g.r. The Hornady SSPB is no longer available, but you will find the 180 gun Speer works just fine however it is .06 inches shorter so adjust seating...
I use Hoppes, I like the smell. I clean often if using lead bullets, less with jacketed . The copper would be from shaving the bullet when seating, brass could be introduced from trimming or chamfering. The grease would be from lead bullet lube or sizing material. I do not know enough about what...
I second the comment about STARTING with a single stage press. A Forster Co-ax, or an RCBS Rock Chucker. I have both, plus a couple of Lee presses each has it's place. If however, you must have a progressive go with the 650, I have one of those also. The extra station (5 holes vs. 4) gives you...
Cabbalas just had them on sale at 20% off don't know if it is still on. Oak wood Gun Club usually has a bunch. Blythes has some usually but not always. Mail order is not a deal as Hazmat runs $25.00+ the cost of the primers or powder.
Don't be overly concerned about Hornady / Speer they are both good bullet companies. You will find that your gun will tell you which bullet it prefers. Titegroup of the powders you have, would be my preference for the 115 gr bullets in a 9mm, my 9s prefer other powders with their pet loads...
Accurate 2200 44.5 grains with Hornady 180 SSP at OAL 2.5" = avg velocity 2633 FPS best 5 shot group was .55" usually around 1' to 1.5" at 100 yards if I do my part same load with Speer 180 grain bullet at OAL of 2.44" gives me 2609 FPS and group sizes are around the same - best group was .44"...
I just read this entire thread and your petition. Current Indiana regulations mandate a cartridge that will adequately and humanly kill a deer at reasonable ranges. In Indiana we are lucky to be able to use rifles, not too many years go that was not the case.
Your list of cartridges leaves...
