Moving from Indiana to DC with guns.

He can move there. He just needs to forget SD, firearms AND ammo. That's the soundest advice he can get.

And the ammo. Not allowed in DC either. You'll tire of living htere long before you get approved for any firearm or ammo. Even if it takes a few years to get approved for anything, you;ll tire of it first. Do like the DC people and assume you'll never need SD and forget about SD entirely.

      I was ALMOST robbed today!

I selected 'Right'. I get bashed every time I relate an instance like yours, but I tend to let them run away when I've got the drop. They stop, I ease off the trigger, but they only have a few nanomoments and very few ounces to decide.

      TAURUS TCP

Only a hundred or so rounds so far, but no issues at all. Light and easy to carry. Accurate. I often carry as a BUG or extra concealability. Wife doesn't like the recoil and went back to her reliable PT22. That said, I may sell and get a 42 because the G42 is the better 'pointer' in my hands...

How do/would you load your pistol (in public) after being disarmed by LE

I usually just slip the spare mag in and refill the one he emptied, when it went that way once. As a rule, in Va., they don't bother you like that, but they did it like that nearly every time I was involved in an incident.

      Glock 17 barrel

After putting new sites and a Lone Wold in my 26, not threaded, I'd say go with LW. I just leaned against a tree to fire three and adjust the sites at 30'. All three rounds went in the same hole. Made the adjustment and did it again, all in the X. I never did that with the G barrel, though I...

      Took some shrapnel tonight.

Ever watch Swamp People? Shooting Gators at close range get shrapnel pretty often. One boy, Willie, after getting shot last year told his dad he wasn't hunting with him again. "I'm tired of being shot and pulling lead out of me. You've shot me at least once every year and I'm tired of it!" (Or...

For Frank and the other LEO's here

Yeah, it's true only for CCW holders. I forget the exact code number, but it's not unusual to see CCW carriers there with them locked and loaded when lobbying. Go figure. Once, I went there with 2 firearms and numerous extra mags. Didn't want to cause a fuss, so I showed my Lic and ID and told...

For Frank and the other LEO's here

Crazy stuff, right. Here, with my CCW, I can carry my M4 loaded with 30 rd. mags into the state General Assembly. I won't do it here, nor elsewhere though.

For Frank and the other LEO's here

That's how I take it, and still obey Ind. rules. You still have to follow rules of whichever state you're in. Interesting thread over there.

For Frank and the other LEO's here

An interesting tread I found elsewhere about carry in Indiana. On the face of it, you could carry in Ind. prohibited places just because you could do it in your own state. :dunno::dunno: What say you? Carry Under Less Restrictions - Illinois Right to Carry - IllinoisCarry.com :)

      Your story matters.

Dang, i thought this thread would be rocking along with stories.;) Oh well, I might have another one this year. An individual from south of the border ended up on a job I was running, working for somebody else. He was screwing up a detail. We had words and I didn't see him for...

      Your story matters.

The bounty? In the 80's and 90's, Richmond Va. achieved the title 'Murder Capital'. At less that 300K people, we were averaging one murder every two days. Drugs were rampant. PD were NOT allowed in my area, and several over areas without BU. No BU, no response to the call. EMT's stayed out until...

      Your story matters.

"However, in the part that mattered, I wouldn't fault you for not shooting at a bad guy with that many people around unless it was an absolute life or death (or close to it) situation. Then again, I wouldn't fault you for doing it either." He wasn't pointing yet. In his right hand, holding a...
