      I tend to agree. When I worked for a stealership (as our old friend Churchmouse called them) if we diagnosed it and said it was fixed but came back with the same problem we fixed it for free labor. Was good motivation to make sure you fixed it right the first time.

      Honestly, unless it has been verified the HCU is the fault it's possible the problem could be as simple as a software update (aka a reflash). If he has access to something like AllData or Mitchell on demand he should be able to get the flow chart to properly diagnose it.
