If you are talking about a bond arms derringer they are bricks, big and heavy, you can get in to 9mm semi autos for there...
As a kid I always though the M4 carbine featured in T2 was the be all end all of AR15 coolness, and that the 20in longboys where super lame. In that last few years after spending some time with full rifle length AR15s I've really fallen in love with them.
What's your priority and realistic roll for this gun. There are plenty that "can" do it all, but each does something better than the others. Anything between a 3in model 60 and 5in Nframe are pretty flexible for most rolls.
I love the MP5 from all its incredible appearances in fiction. As a gun it's pretty great but it's performance to cost ratio is pretty wonky compared to a lot of other stuff these days.
I like the VP70 for its appearance in Aliens, but the gun itself is pretty trash.
