Is NFA Branch Closed (b/c of shutdown)?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the NFA branch is closed? I sent in my 5320.20's for 2019 and got most of them back but not all of them and was wondering if they hadn't been processed yet, if I was going to see them anytime soon because of the shutdown. I'm missing my Illinois SBR paperwork...

      Deer Field, IL Weapons/Magazine ban

This one will hinge on the fact that they "ammended" their ordinance after the state codified in 2013 that AWB's are the purview of the state. Existing bans were allowed to stand, but Deerfield is working off the notion that because we had an ordinance regarding storage of assault weapons, we're...

      Deer Field, IL Weapons/Magazine ban

I guess they changed it as originally debated to exempt retired LEO's from the ordinance. If "assault weapons" are death machines and "only good for killing as many people as possible" why would a retired cop need one?

Attorney recommendations for LTC appeal meeting.

Really? I think a doctor should have the right to write or not write any letter they see fit.

      New/Updated Firearm Regulations

Yeah, it all depends on the wording of the various laws. The AWB that was proposed in OH yesterday basically bans any magazine or tube-fed semiautomatic firearms and had no provision for grandfathering. Most of the laws that ARE passed have grandfathering.

Best factory bolt action .223 ?

I'm sorry,OP, but a bolt action .223 does not exist. I was told on Twitter today that you can't fire .223 from a "hunting rifle" because "they are typically chambered in larger caliber, subsonic rounds for clean kills on large game." So, .223 is only for mowing down humans out of an AR-15

      School Zone Speed Limit Question

Thank you! This has been interesting and helpful. This particular zone does not have the flashing lights or a sign anywhere near the end of the zone noting return to normal speed. I haven't been ticketed here. Just wondering what the law was.

      School Zone Speed Limit Question

Can anyone with informed knowledge on the subject tell me how Indiana interprets "children present" when it comes to school zone speed limits. I pass a school every day on my way to work, which has 20 MPH signs on each side of it. The signs are the usual that state that the speed limit applies...

      Convert an 870 to SBR

A manufacturer can make any NFA weapon without paying a tax on it, since he already paid his SOT. If a civilian Form 1's an AOW, it's still $200. If you want an AOW, find one made by an SOT, or have him convert yours and transfer it back to you.
