the orange stain & finish on my Savinelli was a bit sloppy and started to bother me - so I stripped and refinished it simply with oil. here’s some after photos. first smoke in it was Mac Baren Old Dark Fired which was a mistake in a king size bowl, lol :faint:

      Total Solar Eclipse 4/8/24

one of the most interesting scenes of this eclipse was just and hour or two ago, I counted over 40 contrails/vapor-trails in the sky. with how calm it is around me, it was a surprisingly uncomfortable and eerie skyline to be honest

Bloomington Kroger Shooting - "Road Rage"

that’s my usual grocery store. y’all locals know that guy who dances on the corner? I got a funny story to hijack with. dude isn’t as chill and peaceful as he, and his religious signage, would lead you to think. years ago some friends and I were at a bar in town and that same gentleman was...

"Congestion Pricing" - $15 toll to drive in NYC during peak traffic times

crazy. a friend and I were so excited to make it to San Fran and cross the Golden Gate Bridge - kinda spoils the vibe when you see giant signs telling you of an electronic toll you now owe. We were roadtripping in a rental and wasn’t able to pay online (error with the site or something) so that...

      Best bourbon under $50?

not a bad haul, for discount especially. the sommelier at KroGucci explained a lot about their ordering process at the larger stores. it’s surprising what they will get in and what they can order for you. said he has one guy that places an order of four figure bottles and such totaling just...

      Best bourbon under $50?

almost passed on Kroger deal this time but then found some good wines at the large store in Bloomington (KroGucci). I didn’t get too wild though. In fact I even had EC SB Kroger exclusive ($79ish) in my cart but decided to put it back. But I’m about to sip on Heaven Hill and sip on some Joe’s...

I shopped the big Big Red in btown today and couldn’t believe the prices. they had a few interesting bottles but prices that are laughably inflated even compared to local Kroger

      Retirement Gift for Me

Congrats. Get the Citori. I’d like to imagine that’s the kind of gift that used to be given at retirements by colleagues I remember when a guy for Indiana division fish & wildlife retired after like 35yrs the boys got him an engraved Golden Boy.

What are you smoking or What do you enjoy smoking (Pipe & Cigar Thread)

Missouri Meerschaum has a line called Cornabis, so I picked up some of them (lower) with the classic Chesapeake (top), my first Cob.

      Any Other Photographers?

i shoot with fujifilm x-series mirrorless and simulate film with custom settings that apply in-camera to each of the jpegs produced when selected. I also use adaptors to attach vintage film lenses and take advantage of focus peaking thru the electronic viewfinder to make shooting fully manual a...
