Do you carry around the house?
I don't typically. I do have one next to me, at arm's length and easy to grab, though.

Favorite AR-15?
my favorite is the one with the full mag :) 2 AR15 custom frankenbuilds in .223/5.56 and one .458 SOCOM upper.

Long barrel for velocity or short barrel for moving?
ditto the rifle stock. much more stability when firing. 16" crowned barrel or thread/cap for future suppressor install?

IMO it will depend on if your QD would also double as a muzzle brake and whether you would be shooting without the can. without, you will almost need double hearing protection.

308 and 30-06 rounds
Total agreement....let your rifle pick the best shooter. I was all over the place with 150 gr, but tight groups with 165-175 gr.
